Inzane Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) There were a handful left at my local Lego store last week as well, so I picked up one. My second now, since I had one already in my personal collection which I built for the holiday. I wasn't overly impressed with this set when it first came out in 2013, but my opinion changed when I actually built it in December for the first time and added it to my winter village display. The carousel centerpiece is actually quite nice and was a fun build. It will be interesting to see how this set performs compared to the 4 winter village sets that preceded it. vexxet Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 How much of a sale was it? if indicators of past sales are relevant then i am guessing 50% off. I remember when we were all calling people in Texas Lego shops and having them ship those winter toy stores etc for 50% off. it was great. Quote
Inzane Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 How much of a sale was it? Not much. Just 10% off. But considering its already long gone from the LEGO Shop at Home site, and the stores only have a few left here and there, some discount is better than nothing. Quote
gravtation Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Have a plane set 60022 Brand New for a villa market BN sealed any takers? Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I've heard that John Lewis maybe selling off their remaining stocks this Spring half-price instore as they did last year. I returned my damaged ones shipped in bin liners and will repurchase if reduced by -50%. Could it come back next year? Maybe. Quote
spener90 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Unless Lego changes how they treat the Winter theme, it is done. Quote

spener90 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Yeah, I think the retiring of that set was more of a European thing last year, it lingered in Lego stores here all summer, but it should be done for good this time. Quote

chezzzuk Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Is this set actually retired or will be sold again during the Christmas period 2015/2016? Quote
lobo1969 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Is this set actually retired or will be sold again during the Christmas period 2015/2016?It's done. Expect a new winter themed set to be announced around AUG/SEPT if history repeats itself. Quote
biniou Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Expect a new winter themed set to be announced around AUG/SEPT if history repeats itself. It seems that the set 10249 will be a "Winter toy shop". What we don't know is if it will be very different from the set 10199. Quote
chezzzuk Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 There is no indication in the shop Lego website as the set is not there anymore. Even the santa's workshop set 10245 is not there too and we expect it to be available this Christmas. So how you say that Winter Village Market is retired? Quote
ltbuyer Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 LEGO for the last few years has only brought back the prior years Winter set along with the new one for that year. If you go back 2-3 years they used to have '3' sets out at a time, but they have not done that for at least 2-3 years now so we only expect last years santa's workshop and the new set for 2015. Quote
chezzzuk Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 So it is just an educated guess. There is no confirmation yet from Lego? Quote

ltbuyer Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Yes, there is very little forewarning of what they will 'bring back' from prior years Winter series. They used to bring back more than they did this year, and next year, you will know about the same time everyone else does by what's at the retailers. They really don't announce much on the winter stuff. Quote
