Ok, for you people in the Greater Vancouver/Surrey area starving for deals, the Walmart on 88th in Surrey had a couple of 41078 Skyra's Mysterious Sky Castle for half price ($49 and change). If you're into Elves and into reselling (like many/most of you must be)... have at it.

Looked like the store was prepping for restock as shelving maps were out. There were tons of T-Rex Trackers moved to an endcap so they might be going on sale some time soon, but had no apparent markdown.

Cheers.

Walmart in Barrie has these 50% off! I took two of each. Still four of each left.

Can you provide a copy of the receipt for the spaceport?  My local walmart will probably match it.

Thanks, John

A couple others, too. Demolition Site and Swamp Police Station...but the prices aren't nearly as good as the 50% or more off in store. I'll be hitting up a couple tomorrow to see if anything else is marked down.

Ive wasted too many trips to wm stores in the past week waiting for them to go on clearance. I'm going to pass.

WM inventory checker may help... I found that if it shows 50% discount with 2 or more in stock, them it worth the trip, but you may not find them or they were long gone. If it shows MSRP then definitely nothing surprise. Just my $0.02.

The Walmart inventory checker is terrible. So many sets show up as not available in store.  Eg.  Spaceport and deep sea exploration. But every store has them. Go figure.

I'm just saying the price, not the availability. At least works fine on my area.

It does not work for Canada, at least not the 5 or 6 times I have tried to use it. Maybe others have had success with it.

Also, Spaceport needs to needs to be at least 50%  off before it catches my interest. It only has 500+ pieces and is dramatically overpriced. it should have been a $75 set to begin with.

Piece count is a ridiculous way to determine the set 'value' imho. Weight is better (but still not perfect). Some of the large shuttle pieces make this set more expensive to produce. Also the $149.99 price tag is great for investors, as I think most parents will pass on this at even 20% off (as it is online now). Should be opportunities to get this at a deep discount.

Just an fyi someone on Kijiji posted a picture of the T-Rex Tracker at $50. This specific Walmart location is a bit too far away for me, but worth keeping an eye on any store that does have T-Rex Trackers still.

I got a T-Rex Tracker for $45 yesterday, but there was only 1.

Anyone know if/when we can expect a second round of clearance? I've cleared out all the Walmarts in my area, but there are many sets not yet discounted that others are reporting at clearance prices elsewhere, so I'm ever hopeful.

Nice!

Might just depend on when (or even if) the store gets to it. I don't think any of us will know when they mark more stuff down at this point. The only sure thing with WM clearances I've seen through the years is the beginning of the year (Jan-Feb) is usually when stuff goes on clearance. When each individual store actually gets around to marking items as such is always up in the air.

Some of my local locations last year never budged their discounts from %10-%20 off. What others have said about their clearance practices would support this never changing until stock is gone.

A few clearance notes from my morning at a couple WMs. Spaceport at $105 (skipped - with twenty plus on the shelf I still think I can safely hold out for sub $100 price like others have gotten). Cindy's Castle at $60, Morro Dragon at $60, and Elves Castle at $75.

Since we don't have the weight of the box when in store (online, I admit you can have it on brickset), I rely on piece count, without dismissing the interest the set represents to me and to others. But this, at close to 30¢/piece is quite ridiculous!

And as for investing, since it's so overpriced (in my opinion), I think it would have to go to about 5¢/piece for me to buy it.

was looking for a pair of skates for my son, and decided to go take a look at the legos...

found 2 of the destiny bounty at 80 each + 1 75919, indominus breakout for 100.

75919 was taped on one side, so i opened it, wondering what i would NOT find... to my surprise, only bag #5 was opened, but nothing seems important in that bag? so im gonna build bag #5 to see if anything is missing.

pretty happy as i had given up on walmart clearances
