That's the thing with these creative boxes, they're just classic system bricks & thus have no shelf life limit, like a series set, if you have the storage space they'll be an easy sell anytime of the year, who doesn't want/need basic elements?... actually these are kind of an anti-QF since everyone & their dog is trying to sell them on kijiji right now at +10% you'll score better if you wait a few weeks/month or more.

Totally agree! A lot of my coworkers always ask if they can just buy the classic lego instead of theme sets for their kids. They want their kids to be creative instead of just following instructions.

People on Kijiji are selling these are $60-100 right away. They are asking to get spam from angry parents!

Managed to sell two already (not locally). I had a few angry comments last year but managed to toughen my skin up. The QFLL ruined my life thread would have a field day with the Creative Tower. My wife is on a few 'moms groups' on Facebook and they are already lamenting the lack of Towers in our city. I cheekily asked her to try to QFLL a few that way but no dice.

I can't wait for videos of the Walmart US mad rush for the door to grab these and watch people upload it on CL/Kijiji/AZ/eBay in the parking lot right away.

I am noticing a growing number of people complaining and noticing what is going on with these Creative Towers.  The QFLL may be very short sighted and I believe will only hurt the brand of Lego and re-sellers.

You never see a comment from a person angry about a Green Grocer being too expensive, but when you see comments on kijiji about how a person can't find one for a gift and another ad stating how people are selling a $40 item for $80 I get worried.

Ethics aside, does any one else believe the QFLL is a short sighted approach?

Maybe. I highly suspect a high portion of this year's creative tower QFLLers is from last year's angry parents.

It's possible, but I think very unlikely.  You really need to follow Lego and forums to be able to quickly scoop things up which I doubt the vast majority of people do.

Agreed.

But IMO to follow this WM Black Friday deal not too much time or energy is required.

If WM.ca continue this pattern, we should be expecting another $40~$50 Creative Stuff be Black Friday deal in 2016.

QF is nothing new really, ever since ebay became popular it's now pretty much assumed anything that's advertised on significant sale will be scooped up by resellers for immediate turnover, it's not just Lego.  It's the vendors that need to actively enforce (for lack of a better term) quantity limits if they don't want such activity, I doubt they care one way or another so long as they don't have to maintain stock for a length of time.   I spoke with a wmt stock person who watched the skid of creative boxes she'd just put on the floor disappear in a couple of hours, she said no was taking just one or two most were taking at least 3 (as that was what fits easily in the tiny wmt carts).

Their goal is to get people into the store, if the item is sold out so fast, that's great for them, they get their cut - but it's also likely you'll come back another trip to check if they're are anymore... the more visits you make the more likely you are to buy things whether it's what brought you in or not.

I don't think it hurts the brand, more likely I suspect it helps it out somewhat... people buy what other people have & when they see something that just can't be kept in stock it becomes so much more desirable.

QFLL tends to happen around the Nov-Dec period of time, so I don't worry too much about the brand itself or even Lego reselling. I would wager that there are still parents confident they'll be able to get Jurassic World sets at their local TRU or Wal-mart when they plan to do their holiday shopping. I tend to plan what I want to buy for my own kids/nieces/nephews in advance and look for great deals but I know a ton of parents who don't, and I don't know that they necessarily hold their grudge towards resellers for any serious length of time, or refuse to buy Lego ever again (at the extreme).

As for Creative Towers, I've been lucky to get a bunch. I haven't flipped any locally but have sold a few on the 'bay already. Living in southwestern Ontario perhaps I am a bit spoiled in shopping options, but the reality is there are plenty of Canadians who probably couldn't get a Thursday morning order in for the CT and don't have a convenient WM shopping location, but want one for their kids. I don't know that those that have purchased from me are angry or hold a grudge or simply hit the buy it now button and are happy to have it arrive on their door, ready to be wrapped any put under the tree.

As for local flipping, I'm going to wait and see if they get more in before selling. Nothing will make locals angrier than buying it from me for $75 or $80 and having WM get a pallet in Wednesday night/Thursday morning. I sell quite a bit locally and don't want to sour any relationships - you never know when someone will want a retired set at a premium! I'll pop a couple on kijiji maybe the first week of December but am happy to slowly sell these off over the next several months. It is still an amazing price/piece ratio.

I can see others who actually have work that cannot buy these when available will be angry at those selling on kijiji right away. But people forget things in a few weeks and will just be glad they can get a gift within their budget in time for holidays. After the holidays, people will forget it was a BF item.

btw - a little bird told me there are 2 pallets to each store per Wednesday truck, 2 trucks during the pre-black Friday sale - so the next restock will be next Wednesday over-night... just say'n

Well I asked the entire inventory left within' 150km from my place , nearly 25 stores, only 3 stores had few left : 2 , 4 and 1 .. these are probably error made at the cashier ! .. now more important none had any on order .. so I don't think they'll be a restock next week .. "might be one undercover lol " we never know, or might be coming back later .. but with the new feature in their system to check all stores in one single transaction instead of having to do each store one at a time on their scan gun .. there was nothing showing ON ORDER... if you want to make sure just visit your WM and ask you never know, but as far as I learned and saw it today .. nothing is showing on, in stock nor in transit, nor on order ... from Mtl to almost Trois-Rivières.

Hi all, I am looking for some help during your quest in Wal-Marts. I am trying to get 25 of each of these Star Wars figures that are Black Friday Specials. If you run across any during your hunt and you don't collect these and don't mind picking them up in bulk and ship it to me would be greatly appreciated. I've been finding these tonight at the Star Wars figurines section. Seems to be limited stock at the stores, unless more are on the way on Wednesday night.

Happened to be at walmart this evening, they had quite a few of somewhat similar looking figures but the packaging was quite different, narrower I think (still said black series on it thou)  regular $24.99 the shelf sale tag said $14.oo but. I only noticed the "first order? stormtrooper" and some red headed droid-like fellow... but the painting/colouring on these was just soo bad they just looked to terrible to even consider picking up at that price.   Not a collector of SW action figures since 1977'ish myself but I'm always looking for stuff in that aisle for the toy mountain charity this time of year.

I always check the SW section in my local WM's, can't say I've seen those figures (or box design) yet. There are the Luke/Vader/Chewie ones though in the small scale at some.

I think those are Force Awakens Black Series characters, they seem to have a red box. I saw the ones in Tacsniper`s picture today at Walmart, they had multiples of them. The ones that only had like one were Boushh (Leia) and IG-88.

I think the fact of the matter is that Walmart has an exceptionally good deal on this product. Certainly it's unfortunate for a lot of people that can't make it in time to get some, or miss the window to order online before they sell out, but if you compare the item's contents to other similar products online, selling them for $80 or even $100 is still good price for the bricks you get. To acquire the same number of bricks through the Medium Bucket sold on LEGO Shop at Home Moms and Dads would have to buy 3 @34.99 +tax, and they'd still be shy of the 1500 parts count. Break it down that way and $80 looks like a smokin' good deal still....

These ones for BF are the "old" ones... Episode 6... I found an end cap full of these today. Bought all 70ish... so I think I am good now. Thanks for check it out. I don't think i'll need more at this time. The $25 are The Force Awaken stuff.

I just punched in two sea cows from walmart.ca after punching them in from target.com. Looks like the 2 from walmart just poofed. Surprised it was there. Also got 3% from GCR so after taxes and everything, still cheaper than paying in USD. A bit surprised it hung around for so long.

Been lingering everywhere for some time. 14 still available at amazon.ca too!
