Dunno, 9 months is a fair inning for a non licensed Ideas set. 30 or so listings on EU ebay at the moment and it´s been selling well above RRP. Let´s see what happens.

Don't worry, this is not the end of this set - it will come back...

Despite this it will make its way as nobody has really horted this set so far due to S&H limit...

We may have some small top up but I don't really believe in this. This set is done.

A few of us have managed a fair inventory.  I'm at my goal of 50 sets.   The 9 month life was predicted back in January on release, now for the fun to begin.

Prices on German ebay are already way up. BIN offers start around 70€. One set already sold for almost 80€.

Observing this I wish I wouldn't have postponed my planned purchase until the start of the Gingerbread House promotion.

based on all the conversation in this thread, I went to a few TRU's last night and bought a bunch of Lego Birds sets for 35$ after 10% TRU card discount + 20% off TRU coupon that expired yesterday.

I think this will be one of those sets that does better in Europe - it is just so much harder to find over here and was OOS so long on SAH too. The UK would seem to be the strongest market for it.

TLG excel at bringing out licensed sets after the prime demand period for the theme. GBHQ is probably the most exaggerated example.

I guess it AB tales off we can MOC our original Birds to be nastier!

UK is animal lovers country. And birds are high on the list.

I'm thinking the documentary had something to do with it...

Remember last year with RI? It was sold out and came back a couple of times over Xmas so we can only say it is retired for sure when it is retired product and eliminated from the main web. I think it is done, though.

The price seems to be jumping on them. I can't find any at retail prices that ship to Australia, or are for sale in Australia.(at retail prices) . I only got 4.

What do you expect? With no large chains having stock to keep the price down, SAH limit 2 if not sold out and a lot of investors poo-pooing it and maybe now regretting that, the price is only going in one direction. Back atcha Ecto 1!
