TheDarkness Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 (edited) So looking at the releases on The Brick Fan, and it shows a new Winter Toy Shop on the horizon next year. I personally think it is a bit disappointing, as there are more areas that surely could have been explored. It will be interesting to see it's design and whether or not it is similar enough to the previous rendition to give the 10199 a hit investment wise. -------- mod update by jaisonline -----pics and details added. 10249 Winter Toy ShopAges 12+. 898 pieces.US $79.99 – CA $99.99 – DE 69.99€ – UK £59.99 – DK 599.00 DKK*Euro pricing varies by country. asharerin Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I am thinking the Hoth Echo Base and Winter Toy Shop are just placeholder names for the SW UCS and winter themed sets. UCS AT-AT and Holiday Express Train have been bandied about and make more sense. Only time will tell. Quote

bricketycricket Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I wouldn't say it makes zero sense. Lego releases redesigns of old sets all the time, and as long as its different from the original toy shop, even owners of that set will still be able to buy it. Quote
asharerin Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 +1. Toy Shop again would make zero sense. There is no expert train on the list to replace Horizon Express. I am thinking the Holiday Express train may explain why. Just rumors at this point tho. Quote
jaisonline Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Just makes no sense for Lego to release another Winter theme Toy Shop with all the available options, Then again, I know it will sell well so it prob does make since if you're a main bean counter in TLG's finance dept. I do wonder if this set is somehow going to be a larger $99.99 version of the original or something to compliment Santa's Workshop since both sets will be available together for at least 2-4 months. Do you mean "complement" ? That would not make sense because santa gives toys for free, and do not use a shop but chimneys. Quote

Just wishful thinking, it sounds like a toy store / shop refresh. I'm just hoping it's an extension to the workshop. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 It could be a Toy Factory. That has potential to be either an add-on for Santa's Workshop or a standalone model. Quote

emazers Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 The Wholesale Dealer Catalog does not show any Exclusives. When I had a wholesale account for 8 years the Catalog only shows the Regular Sets than you can order. Quote

Ciglione Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Analysing the new sets and the "credible rumours" like this one I think it is safe to say we will get alot of new SW-sets from movie scenes with snow in it? Quote

Dr Jedi Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Sounds like another smaller set, like last year. I miss the ginormousness of 10229! And I still hope this set isn't another toy shop. Quote

Dr Jedi Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I think this is exactly "another toy shop," hence the title Winter Toy Shop...Yeah, I can read the title. I just wasn't aware that this had ever been confirmed beyond the initial rumor last December. Quote

Jondog21 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Posted on Brickset, from member Grogall, who seems to have a good reputation in the community:"2nd version of Winter Village Toy Store (Nope)2nd Version of Holiday Train (Nope)2nd Version of the Workshop (Nope)I can only say it's sweet! :-P"speculation seems to be a candy shop or a gingerbread house based on his use of the word sweet being interpreted as a clue. 6 Quote
