kunfuzd
Dumb question: Has anyone tried returning opened minifigure polybags to a store (Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, etc...)? The reason would be the truth: I didn't get the minifigure I wanted. Is there a written policy somewhere about this? cvail8
Why don't you just open them in the store so you make sure you get the one you want? I mean, that's basically what you're doing anyway if you try to return opened packages.
@rtisan
It`s like returning items at the grocery store whilst saying "they didn`t taste the way I thought they would" ....
Stevenplays
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to do that as the whole idea around blind packs is well, they're blind. It would be like returning an opened Trading card pack, how can they verify that they were truly the cards you got originally? Or in this case the figure. I have bought opened minifigures before because I checked that they were complete and I could make an easy profit. Would say it's a no go. loki221978
yes there is a policy, usually there is a sign
cvail8
I'm sure that you could yell at some poor Walmart CS until they let you return your item. If it's worth $4 to you to be an @$$hole, go for it.
terrymc4677
Why don't you learn how to smoosh properly so you get the ones you want. It's not that difficult. Returning opened packages because you didn't get the one you wanted is tacky at best.
Alpinemaps
Post what you got in the trading area. Or put it up on eBay. Not everyone can smoosh well, so I get it. But the idea of blind packs have been around since baseball cards were invented. You wouldn't return baseball cards. Don't return minifigs. stackables
I have heard of many collectors that returned sealed packs. Just do you smooshing at home and return the ones you don't want.

This is the way to go. If you are not comfortable smooshing in public, then practice at home and return the unopened figures you don't need. I used to be opposed to this (haven't done it myself) but I figured essentially there isn't too much difference from smooshing in store. Plus lego raised the prices on them so they deserve it
kunfuzd
Just asking folks... Probably some kind of non-return policy similar to video games and DVDs...
exciter1
Just asking folks... Probably some kind of non-return policy similar to video games and DVDs... I read your post without reading all the comments first. I figured you just wondered if there was a policy, because there should be.
justapilgrim
I found a random series 8 for $1.99 was all excited and didn't smoosh (don't know them anyways). The minifig didn't have a head or torso (someone took the time to smoosh before me). I ended up not returning but I should have
