Pseudoty Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Did anyone see that their store got more then one case of 200 bags? I know more will be available at TRU once the promo begins but assuming 876 TRU stores in the USA x 200/Store = 175,200 Polys. Anyone have something comparable to compare to in quantity/demand to see if these may dry up and increase in value or if it is all downhill from here. Quote

I'd consider The Hobbit: Lake-Town Guard to be somewhat exclusive and it's price has never recovered once it was released nationwide at TRU. You can still get those for $8 - $9 shipped. 1 Quote
Brickrunner Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 When is the RR poly supposed to be available and its given out for a $10 purchase? Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Yeah I don't think it's gonna be a huge winner but it is an AMAZING fig if you ask me well two figs if you include groot ;) 2 Quote

jbacunn Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) I'd consider The Hobbit: Lake-Town Guard to be somewhat exclusive and it's price has never recovered once it was released nationwide at TRU. You can still get those for $8 - $9 shipped. The only difference would be that this is a very popular character and there will be a GOTG sequel but if there are this many out there with many resellers buying tons I just don't know if the price could ever recover even with the sequel. I think it would stay around the $10 mark and maybe bubble up to $12-$14 or so with the sequel. I don't think there is any way this is a $15-20 poly long term. Just too many. Pseudoty Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Yeah and can get more so was trying to decide if I should. I had my listing as BO before I decreased the price and now cant take it away as I have 2 pending offers and had a lot of offers for lots of 10. So I just increased the Auto decline amount. Quote

teamhappyfrog Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Did each store definitely get 200? The store I frequent only had 25 and said they did not have any more. Quote
Pseudoty Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 They came in a sealed box of 200 with 4 bags of 50 inside. Quote

You can still get those for $8 - $9 shipped. I don't think it's really comparable to the lake-town guard. The RR poly has a comic con exclusive minifig and one of the most popular characters in GOTG whereas the lake-town guard is a random generic minifig that is available in another set that has been discounted to $30-35 a number of times. Those are the same estimates I've been coming up with as well, assuming 200 is an accurate number for each store. Also, consider a number of those 876 are babies r us locations that don't sell toys and that there are or will be a certain number available to international stores. Quote
jeff_14 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I still have not seen this poly at all in Toronto area, or even seen it listed in a flyer. Quote
jerryherb Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 does not seem very popular with the buyers, perhaps they are all headed to TRU to pick them up. sold only 1 so far (only got a dozen a day early) and the price is down to 12 on amazon... Quote
Pseudoty Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) They have been selling like flapjacks to people overseas in lots of 10 using forwarding shipping services. Shipping is only $5.25 USPS Priority mail flat rate small box. No TRU in Asia. Edited November 17, 2014 by Pseudoty Quote

Thumper Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 It was available a few weeks ago with $30 purchase at TRU. & sold on ebay for $35-$40 as fast as you could list 'em.... ie. Free Lego! :-) Quote
brujildo68 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Just some feedback from my trip to 2 TRU yesterday. First one sold out of RR's at 10 am. Second one had close to 50 polybags available as I can tell they had it on the customer service desk. Finally got mine and it is really nice minifigure. Quote
Pseudoty Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Went back after work tonight to get 50 more. All gone but they had the TMNT promo out for $4.99 I passed. Quote
sroster Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I'm not going to bother trying until Thursday. If all of mine are out I may have to resort to buying one or two from you no-good reselling QFLLs. Quote
trekgate502 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I think at least 100,000 of these available is right based on what I saw. I actually think it could be a lot more. 1 Quote

I think I underpriced these for the market but my cost was well below $4.99 each so I will see. These may go up if this was a one run and done I had a lot of BO I had to refuse. Quote
terrymc4677 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) I was only able to obtain three yesterday. Was hoping for 20-30. My store didn't have any out. I asked the manager, and showed her a screen shot and the UPC. She looked it up and said it showed in stock. She sent someone to the back to to look for them. Five minutes later she came out with the three I purchased. They mentioned something about a street date of 11/21, but since they scanned in the system they let me buy them anyway. I'm pretty sure they were just playing dumb and probably had a lot more back there. I listed them right away for $17 with no takers. I just took them down. I'll throw them in storage and forget about them for a few years. Edited November 17, 2014 by terrymc4677 Quote
bricker123 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Scored one at a store while they have limit of 1 per customer. I want to get a few more but still one is better than nothing. Besides one or a few per customer is fair play. Btw saw a mom there looking for lego minecraft and obviously there is none in store, probably sent by the kids... Kids know their stuff... Quote
