inversion Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Is that a creeper in clothes? Or what is that green thing? Edit: nvm it looks like a zombie. Quote
Stevenplays Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Is that a creeper in clothes? Or what is that green thing? It's a Zombie. If you're referring to the cave set. Quote
knarrff Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 After looking at all these pictures I cannot see these sets to be a great seller. I might be wrong, but the smaller sets are more interesting, to me. They should have stuck to the small-scale sets and produced a few more of these, with interesting micro-figs and a few more cool colors. Quote
spener90 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 http://screenburn.kotaku.com/photos-of-the-upcoming-lego-minecraft-sets-1623063075 Looks like we might need a new theme in the forums. Anyone heard of a targeted release date? Quote
inversion Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 November 2014. And these sets are ugly in my personal and massively subjective opinion. Additionally those minifigs give me the creeps. Who else thinks that just printing the pixel-faces on regular round heads would have been a much better choice? Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I thought it was this year - like October? Quote
TheOrcKing Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Since we know a general release date and have seen official images for two of the sets thus far, now the question is will these too be a limited product line same as the smaller Minecraft sets or a theme found alongside others in your typical retail store? The original sets have sold and continue to sell well. However, you have to admit giving the line a diverse selection available from a variety of stores would slay sales. I mean, if a bunch of kids will want what is basically a cardboard shipping box with Steve's face printed on there so they can play dress up for the cost of $15.In any case, I know I am curious as to how those new head pieces look like from all angles. I still only like the Skeleton kind of and at least everything including the bricks appear to be completely printed which is major plus. Of course they would have made a major foul had they used stickers plus these have to be the easiest thing for Lego to print ever. The Zombie for example has like a couple pixels on the face and torso. Quote
fuzzy_bricks Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Pictures of the boxes. Beware the autoplay video. I love how they are now putting "Build your own creation" on the box, dang I thought I could only build what the instructions said. http://brickultra.com/lego-minecraft-set-pictures-revealed-2015/ Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 These actually look really cool. however, these are more like normal lego sets which makes me think people may not keep overpaying 35$ for these sets with tiny pieces. Quote
inversion Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I smell these will bomb at Christmas, putting aside my personal dislike. Also I wonder how fast will the Chinese copies appear. I believe LEGO managed to ride the Minecraft hype train just in time thanks to CUUSOO/Ideas before any other significant producer regarding MC merchandise. Quote

inversion Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Aren't they still selling pretty well though? That's for my English. "To be the bomb" = success, "bomb" = fail spectacularly. Just checked. Well, a lesson for me every day. I meant obviously that the sets will be very successful. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted August 30, 2014 Author Posted August 30, 2014 Pictures of the boxes.http://brickultra.com/lego-minecraft-set-pictures-revealed-2015/For what they're worth, Lego appears to have replicated the original game as close as they realistically could and the box art plus the number of sets leads me to believe these will be widely available whereas the micro worlds continue being limited in general. I think I may actually like the micro world sets better. Either way, they're all parts packs to me really.I love how they are now putting "Build your own creation" on the box, dang I thought I could only build what the instructions said.Funny how a number of people have left angry messages on reddit and other places of "all you can build is what's on the box" or "no more inspiration promoted" or some such nonsense. 10230 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I don't know. I want to, but cannot like the new sets. The still like the micro worlds better. Quote
vincevaughn Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Looks like one will come with the figure in diamond armor. First reason to get excited about these sets yet. Quote
zskid00 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 If I was a fan of Minecraft, I think I would like these new sets much better with the more detailed builds and minifigures. Quote
minicoopers11 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I'll probably get some of these for investment. Don't like them personally, but I would guess these will offer a better value than the $34.99 cubes. Quote
fuzzy_bricks Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) These look like the same sets we've already seen, unless I'm missing something. http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-minecraft-minifigure-scale-sets-official-images-revealed/ Edited October 9, 2014 by fuzzy_bricks 1 Quote
