justapilgrim
So I see all the posts that set X or set Y is still not worth MSRP years later, but I never see them for sale. Are the investors just sitting on them? Waiting to go up? Don't want to cut losses? Example is the prince of Persia, I kind of want to pick up a few of the sets like the ostrich race just to have the birds and some of them are kinda cool, but no where on eBay are a decent deal

glenbart
In comparison to this 2010 set, there are about 373 of these sets available* on bricklink, whereas 6858, a 2012 set, there are about 170 available. *new Edited October 5, 2014 by glenbart
terrymc4677
I'm guessing that anyone who bought into Prince of Persia as an investment jumped off a bridge long ago, which is why you don't see many listings for it.
mario.lalonde
Galaxy Squad seems to be a bad bet to invest in too for a earlier example...
DoNotInsertIntoMouth
Have to remember too -- a lot of the people who are still in this game are smart about purchases. They know what will be and wont be a good buy. So in turn they didn't buy a lot of the sets that didn't work out.

Thumper
Biggest duds so far have both been Starwars sets: 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter (Nice ship that no one associates with anything in the series so it's of little interest) 6212 X-wing Fighter (over produced, too long on the shelves & immediately replaced with newer version) Still selling for below msrp & of course that Luke maquette was a total disappointment! POP sets weren't really all that bad but for part-out value...
Darth_Raichu
The duds are good for cheap birthdays / holidays presents

If your decent and my decent are close I could put some up something on bricktrader
