stephen_rockefeller Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 This minifig was all the rage because it was supposedly a SDCC exclusive........turns out I guess it wasn't. I don't know if people who were selling them were mis representing it or what but it was going for over 100 bucks during and after SDCC 10 (or maybe it was 11) anyways now its a promo item, who knows what happened with this mess. Mos_Eisley Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 It was from Toy Fair. Toy Fair stuff is hard to get so it can be very valuable if it never gets released anywhere else, like the Iron Man and Captain America minifigures. The Shirtless Mauls then made their way as promotional items at TRU and crushed their value. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 Ahhh yes toy fair, my apologies. Not sure why I was thinking SDCC, were people selling them there also maybe? Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 They were in the Darth Maul Tin exclusive set, but their value was already gone before that. Quote
StarCityBrickCompany Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Yea - this was an odd one. First, it was a super rare, super expensive minifig. Then some Overseas sellers had cases of them, who sold them by the hundreds. Then they were available here as a promo. At this point, they seem to be behaving like your typical SW minifig promo (which is good) & will likely follow the typical rise in value. It is a very cool minifig & the mass sellers seem to have dwindled. I would look to gather some of them whenever a particularly good deal is found. Quote
