golong Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I having been purchasing lego now for a few months. I have focused on the larger more exclusive sets. I had an interesting day today. I visited my local lego store to buy a SSD and get double points. When I got there imagine my delight when I saw they had tumbler in stock. A member of staff told me that they had just got a new delivery but they were selling like hot cakes. I stashed one under my arm quick as a flash and picked up the SSD. I was already delighted to be getting my hands on a tumbler (although i was also aware that she who must be obeyed would probably kill me given that I had to convince her that it was a sensible move to spend Quote

TheBrickClique Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Those extras are actually equipped with GPS tracking devices. As soon as you ship them, satelites relay the information to TLG servers where the reseller apprehention (aka ban hammer) team checks them daily. That's one theory anyways. Quote
speedpro50 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Wonderful gifts. Congratulations. I have had LEGO staffers be kind and generous, but never like that. Quote
Pseudoty Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Did they not have the winter set 1 of 2? Perhaps he gave you those instead? Quote
golong Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 No mention of the winter set. I was most surprised by the store exclusive as I understand they only make 300 of these per new store and it has been open a while. I will take it from the replies that this is not something I should expect to happen every time I buy a big set or sets! Quote
newbie77 Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 lego is still a toy in some part of world while at others its a different commodity Quote
JRandall Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 It's great how in stores they give out all sorts of extras but at Lego Shop online they act like they're doing you a favor by selling to you. Quote
