TheOrcKing Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Just2Good on Eurobricks has found a logo for some new theme titled "Speed Champions" that is believed to be released later in 2015. Earlier there was a rumor for something based on the TV show Top Gear so I am guessing this is what became of that. Anyway here is a list of rumored sets with the tiny logo. 75899 - Ferrari F150 75908 - Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 75909 - McLaren P1 75910 - Porsche 918 Spyder 75911 - McLaren Mercedes Pit Stop 75912 - Porsche 911 GT Finish Line 75913 - Ferrari F14 & Scuderia Ferrari Truck Source: The Brick Fan 1 Quote

biniou Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I'm very curious to see the Porsche 911 GT ! :-F The ferrari truck will certainly be some kind of a remake of the set 8654, so I'll pass. Quote

Darth_Raichu Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I want the McLaren P1. However, to be honest I do not know how they would do those curves justice at $15-$20 price point. Quote
Sabrejimmy Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Pics are up at The Brick Fan now I like them! Quote
waddamon Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Darn, i've got 8185 unopened. I wonder if i should sell it, original ferrari truck. Quote
edgecrusher Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I'm so pumped for this series. I'll definitely be buying a set of them to build, and a couple to save as well. Quote
No More Monkeys Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Did you notice that photostream has seemingly final images of newer sets? not many though... Edited September 30, 2014 by No More Monkeys Quote
Neosphinx Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 918 spyder is not bad. The rest is not my cup of tea Quote
inversion Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I like the truck. The others are meh. Liked the Creator Lambos before MUCH better. Quote
biniou Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Those vehicules are not wide enough. Come on, the Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 is not that thin ! Maybe lego designed it this way, so it's easier for kids to get in hand. Quote
Locutus001 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I don't know.. I do not really like the theme ***** Maybe it'll get popular though... but meeeh... A nice UCS racing car would've been cool though! Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 As expected for sets in $15-20 range. I guess they captured the essence of P1, but I do not know about that Spyder Quote
Curtis Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 You're right Darth_Raichu, that 918 needs a bit of mod'ing...a lot more red and orange bricks. Getting the smoke just right is going to be tricky as well. 1 Quote
Huskers1236 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I'll see if my son wants some for his town, but to me, mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 Dang it. They just had to make these perfectly minifigure scale and everything. Now I must buy these for my cityscape. That's a healthy handful of new parts between tires, canopies, and mudguards. While all those stickers on the vehicles are not so great (in regards of trying to apply every one of them), I am grateful the minifigures are printed (or they appear to be) compared to how they handled the Ferrari sets from years ago. The designs may not completely accurately mimic the body styles of the real life cars but trying my own hand with mixing minifigure scale and real world design into one, it's a real pain figuring out how to mesh the two together well at all and I believe Lego did a fantastic job with all things considered. TheOrcKing Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 ToaMeiko over at Brickimedia wrote up a article making a comparison between each set versus the real deal. Quote
jaylay Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 they look pretty nice, of course ide like them in a bigger scale ... now all LEGO has to do is make a brickyard! an oval track would be nice! Quote
TheOrcKing Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 LEGO has officially announced their partnership with Ferrari, McLaren Mercedes, and Porsche for the Speed Champions theme. LEGO built icons Quote
