I don't think my question is so weird, multiple people here agree that mega blocks quality is increasing and there might be flipping or investing potential.

It appears to be very true to the old TV show (or TMNT for the NES) and I want one and that makes one mega bloks set that I would own.

Anyways not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, mod please move if needed. Just seen on the 'what other products do invest in' thread that this has been reduced by 48% on amazon.com. Great, as I'd really like a couple of these. But with shipping to the UK it comes to over £210.

I would never invest in this. Mega Bloks missing parts/defect rate is astronomical compared to Lego. This isn't just be crapping on Mega Bloks. Both reviews that I watched on Youtube mentioned had this happen to them and there are numerous Amazon reviews stating this as well. What happens when this set is OOP and Mega Bloks isn't supporting it anymore? You'd have to put a giant disclaimer on any listing.

For personal building, I'd be all over it if I had the room.

I have been on the fence about buying one for personal build for this exact reason.  I don't want to have missing pieces when I have everything ready to build and then wait several weeks for parts.

As far as I know, this will not be available in the UK. I think the only way to buy it is to either pay for the shipping (and customs duty and VAT) or do you know an American who's coming to the UK? BTW... I think The Bridge also makes a nice companion to this set. TBH... I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it was over here.

I think Mega Bloks has a lot of kudos to make up for before it becomes a brand to take seriously for investment. However, the brick quality is getting better with less instances of missing pieces and the colours are getting more consistent. At least this is a clone and not a knock-ff brand ;-)

I have been an AFOL since 2010 and I have been investing in some as well. 

Have you guys seen Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles minifigures line lately? Pretty awesome quality! 

What do you guys think of Mega Bloks in general? Are they worth buying?

Incredible price for a personal build. I can't see it being any cheaper. Like stated above, not a great thing to purchase and hold for resale due to high likelihood of missing parts.
