Trains 'n boats Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Hi there, I know this will vary by set, but there's so much data out there now, I was wondering if anyone had done an analysis to see when a set peaks/levels out. It seems like the anecdotal evidence says about 2 years after retirement, but would be interested to read if anyone had anything statistical. Thanks! TNB Quote
glenbart Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 You answered your own question, each set is different. Most people would advise keeping the set 2 years after eol to get the best price. My 2 cents worth, good sets will increase. Quote
glenbart Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) My three cents worth, is that if a set/theme retires a month or so before Christmas they get a head start as people Spend a whole lot more around the holiday and panic buying happens. My 4 cents worth isn't free. Edited September 14, 2014 by glenbart Quote
GhostDad Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 It's a great question, but honestly, if I had such a model, it would be the product of many hours of work and I would most definitely not give away my results for free... Quote
KShine Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Any analysis done today would be somewhat worthless (since it would be using data from a completely different investing environment). 1 Quote
