Guest TabbyBoy Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 SO jealous! I really wish we could buy it in America (at MSR). Don't you have any buddies in Europe who could buy for you? Quote

Locutus001 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Don't you have any buddies in Europe who could buy for you? I guess that would be more expensive than to get one from an ebay reseller right now. 2 Quote
hannibal Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I'm waiting until 23:39 on 30SEP to punch in 5x HH along with 5x 3E ready for 2VIP. So far, everything I've had on back-order like this has been honoured. i said I wasn't buying again but, who can resist these while prices are rocketing? I scored one on Saturday. Westfield in London didn't have any HHs on the shelves, which made me smile. I saw Grand Emporiums though. I am also tempted to get another HH and maybe extra 3Es... Quote
mscheaf Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Do we think that the HH will peak now during this intitial OOS phase or will it peak after some more stock comes in, they sell all that, then it actually retires for real, not just rumor? Quote

This one is most likley done for good theres ni reason for it to not to have already come back. Quote

If sets peak that soon, then what's the point of holding any set for 2, 4, 8, or 10 years ? Edited September 29, 2014 by Darth_Raichu Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 It's already peaked. Sell yesterday. 3 Quote
Cross Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 This set will become highly unpopular once the spirits that possess it start moving things around in your pantry. It's unsettling. 1 Quote

mscheaf Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I think Fedex lost mine. Of course they did though. It's fedex. They are 0-forever on shipments to me. Something always wrong Quote
hannibal Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 To continue the offtopic shortly, yes, the Maersk ship is very hard to find in the UK. Only Lego sells it and the only other alternative is resellers for 50% over retail. I can only imagine when gone for good..... Currently this one and the HH are the two hot sets which i believe will turn into solid gold in the future. I dont know if the HH has peaked, maybe temporarily, but then again it will not go back to retail anymore. I can see it being easily Quote

Counterpoint: see Brigade, Fire and Star Destroyer, Super. Two sets that spiked when EOL was imminent or reached. Perhaps not coincidentally, these are the two most recent exclusives to retire. The Sopwith Camel also spikes when sold out. Perhaps this is the modern investment model - a huge spike followed by minimal growth followed by healthy growth - but Lego exclusives have recent history to see large spikes at the end of the lifespan Quote

10230 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Today at midnight the HH frenzy at LEGO Shop at Home Europe will begin.. can't wait to see this set being sold out everywhere. Which time zone is the Europe shop using for 'midnight'? Quote
Neosphinx Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Which time zone is the Europe shop using for 'midnight'? Depends on the part of Europe. It uses the timezones as they are. Quote
Jules_K Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Depends on the part of Europe. It uses the timezones as they are. Only 1 hour and 50 minutes for me to go! Our friends in New Zealand will be getting in first. Edited September 30, 2014 by jkaesler 1 Quote

jerryherb Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I think there is at least 10 more pages of "fat" in this HH thread that must be censored. 1 Quote
