TheDarkness Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 No. I don't care what others think. It is always funny watching their faces as you tell the uninitiated how much value Lego really has. Quote
Rich B Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Yeah you will definitely get weird looks sometimes, but hey who cares! Those giving the strange looks have no idea....... Quote
TheOrcKing Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Not at all. I'll buy what I like and like what I buy. Quote
Snarkie Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 You can always buy a birthday card with your Legos and claim they are for someone else ;) Quote

Anakinisvader Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Does anyone feel dumb when they buy things in the store such as friends or duplo in bulk? Heck no. I just combine it with tampons and male depends and I'm good to go. 1 Quote
dunkers97 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Only time I feel dumb is when there's a hot chick right behind me in the checkout line, but other than that... no. Quote
kerrmando Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I think its better not to tell the average layman what Lego is worth.. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Heck no. I just combine it with tampons and male depends and I'm good to go. HAHAHA! That just made my day! Quote
ibobpeb Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Hi all. I'm new to LEGO investing and after reading this article here I was wondering which of the Friends sets do you think will appreciate well? Which Friends sets are must buys and which ones to avoid? Quote
cflannagan Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Biggest set of themes (ie: Summer Riding Camp) are often the best bet. Olivias House (2nd biggest set) will also probably do quite well after-market. Really, many Friends sets should appreciate nicely after retirement, only because it's a pretty popular/hot theme. Quote
Grolim Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I think most of them will do well. Especially the first wave of sets that Lego had real trouble keeping up with demand on. Subsequent sets production runs and supply will have been a lot greater. Big sets for big $ returns, but if you are prepared to grind a lot of small sets I think they will be a winner as well. My girls love them. 1 Quote
nolanfan34 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I firmly agree that Summer Riding Camp and Olivia's House are going to be winners. If they are smart enough to produce more houses in each wave...Mia's House, etc, then Olivia's is going to be huge down the road IMO. 1 Quote
emazers Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 1-Lego and Tru Exclusive 3185 Summer Riding Camp 2-Olivia's House 3-This one will be the hottest seller this year The Dolphin Cruiser $69.99. Ihave 22 of the 3185 and Olivia's House and will load up on the Dolphin Cruiser. 1 Quote
Guest ph4tb0i Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Summer riding camp for sure! I think if you're going to be getting Heartlakes stables it might also be a good idea to pair up heartlake vet with it since those two sets actually look pretty good together. Plus I think Heartlake vet is still only $38 ish at Walmart/Amazon right now. Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I second that the dolphin cruiser will be a big time winner. 1 Quote
tigereyes5811 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I agree with you guys. Summer Riding Camp is a REALLY REALLY nice set. Girls and Pony goes hand in hand just like Boys and Troopers/Army Minifigs. Olivia's House is great. Just wish it was a little Bigger like a Doll house. Maybe they will have a Stephanie or Andrea Mansion. That would be sweet!!!! I like Olivia's Tree House, Stephanie's Cool Convertible, City Pool, and the City Park Cafe to do real well for the smaller sets. I think these will be great for quick flips this Xmas. 1 Quote
TheOrcKing Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm bumping this old thread seeing how we have a ton more members now then before when this topic was originally created, and I'm not afraid to admit that I am finding myself buying some of these for my own collection. So to reiterate, Is anyone a fan of the Friends theme personally? Quote
Grolim Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Fan of a few sets for investing, but not personally for building. However, my 4 yr old and 5 yr old girls love them, so I have a bit of experience in building a few of the smaller ones. Quote
TheDarkness Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 The new Dolphin Cruiser looks awesome. I wouldn't buy them for myself, but would happily use my daughter as a good excuse to open a box I will put aside a few of the larger sets for investment purposes later. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Friends? IT BURNS US!!!!!! WE HATES IT FOREVER!!!! Quote
Guest ph4tb0i Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Dolphin Cruiser + Summer Riding Camp + Olivia's House will be big winners for sure. Wife will not let me sell my lone Summer Riding Camp and Heartlake Stables... Quote
TheOrcKing Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Rebumping yet again to see if I can get more replies at this time of day. Plus I added a poll cause I'm addicted to those now. (Where's that Poll Taker award? ) Quote
