JuneauJQB Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I am not privy in how to read the codes. I read thru the forums and gathered that the first 2 digit number is the week of the year, the letter is place of origin and the last single digit number is which "production run"? I see four different production runs, no? I think the last number is the last number in the year (4 for 2014) Quote
brickelements Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 OK so 42r1 one is: Late Oct (place of origin) 2011? Quote
Migration Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 OK so 42r1 one is: Late Oct (place of origin) 2011? We think so. Quote

exciter1 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 8 SSDs sitting on the shelf at FAO Schwarz NYC........sitting next to 8 UCS Bwings You can apply for an FAO credit card, if there is such a thing. Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 You can apply for an FAO credit card, if there is such a thing. Since FAO is owned by TRU, I wonder if you get 10% discount for using TRU credit card Quote
tonysbricks Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 so what's the punchline ? "Retire here often?" Quote
c666187 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Since FAO is owned by TRU, I wonder if you get 10% discount for using TRU credit card I doubt it. When I had to return a BOGO free item last year, they made it clear that FAO and TRU are separate businesses. Quote
sjbdeebo2 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I received mine from Amazon today. A little disappointed it arrived damaged. They took $70 off the price and asked me if that was enough and how much I would like to be reimbursed. I told them I would prefer a replacement. The customer service rep said they would be getting more in from their supplier in the future and said he would put a note in to let me know when they will arrive. I guess we will see. Anyway he issued me a partial refund of $70 which I accepted, and he put in a note to the shipping department about the insufficient padding. For some reason he did not want the pictures I took of the damage. Anyway here they are: Quote
djim Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 BTW the SSDs at FAO are likely $500 each, if they are the same price as they were 2 weeks ago. The B-Wings were retail along with the Unimog and Winter Cottage. I'm kicking myself for not picking up the last Winter Cottage. Quote
boliramirez Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I am wiring from my iPhone so I hope you can see this pic.... Found it at my nearest TRU..... It rang at 499.99 but the price tag had 429.00, they honored it And I pulled out the 20% coupon, it did not go through, manager came, admired this beast of a toy and forced the coupon.... On my way home with it.... $370.00 after tax..... 4 Quote
naf Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Nice, I've never seen a SSD or any exclusive at a TRU B&M store. Wonder why they have it priced so low (by TRU standards). Quote

It's probably an in-store return from someone who bought it online. I also wondered why they have it priced so low. I would think that it would be priced over $500. Quote

waddamon Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 My two from amazon are arriving today, we'll check condition. I am concerned with the continued damage to amazon sets. How long before they tell me no more discounts or replacements? I am not sure what that policy is. Quote
