Dbroncoboy Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 By Target changing its online price of the SSD to $430, does this mean they are expecting future inventory? Strange, very Strange. They are always messing with their prices for out of stock sets based on Amazon prices. I wouldn't read much into it either way. Quote
Miami Bomb Squad Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 . If you want a clue as to the next UCS set to go EOL then look at which ones are not backordered with the european sale. This will highlight the laggards which are the ones TLG will not keep around (remember the B-Wing?). Ok, based on your theory, which one will go first? Aren't they all on backordered from EU? Quote
No More Monkeys Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 single SSD showed up on amazon, with wording "more is on the way", but without specific date. Mentally prepared myself to haggle about the condition of the box... Quote
No More Monkeys Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Looks like Amazon 3rd Party prices finally moved up to match TRU's for 10221 Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Looks like Amazon 3rd Party prices finally moved up to match TRU's for 10221 I am slightly surprised it took so long ... Maybe cause they were making sure it wasn't going to be restocked anytime soon Quote

Deez_Brickz Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Ugh. Just received an SSD from Walmart. No outer shipping box. UPS label right on front, major creasing, one seal popped, packing tape over both ends, small hole on front of box. Has anyone had any success with getting adjustments / discounts? I really don't want to return it. I paid with paypal if that makes any difference. Quote

falmufti Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 On UK LEGO Shop at Home expected ship dates are now: R2D2 29th May DS 5th June SSD 4th July Quote
waddamon Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Well it looks like my original TRU thesis is turning out to be true. They adjusted their prices up in advance of the chaos. Before long people will be ordering from them as they will be the same or cheaper than EBAY/Amazon. SSD is done. I just hope they fill my orders from the beginning of April. Quote
hollingsworthless Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Well this is good news. Recently sold sorted by highest price to lowest: Quote
redghostx Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I didn't realize that all of these overpriced exclusives are retiring soon! Sent from my Nexus 4 using Brickpicker mobile app Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I still believe that there is a good chance the SSD will make one more appearance 1 Quote

Deez_Brickz Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 That's not the one just listed on eBay for $375? Nope. I would just return it instead of make some pennies flipping. Quote
Dbroncoboy Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Walmart issued me a 20% refund. All I really had to do was send pictures. I have 4 coming tomorrow. I'm pretty sure they are all going to be shipped the same way as yours. Only somewhat positive is they were shipped fed ex and not ups. Doubt they will give me 20% off all 4...blah Quote
chopstick Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I had my SSD shipped to the store (walmart) for pick up. The box looked like it was rained on and the seals were loose. I just asked for a refund. Next time I guess I'll pony up and buy large exclusives by the case. 1 Quote
Dbroncoboy Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 So yeah. 1 of 4 ssds from walmart is not completely trashed. Two were retaped closed during shipment and the other has a huge hole. Any advice? If i can get credit from walmart are they worth it at 20% off? Obviously I'd need to check the contents of the retaped ones. Obviously the crappy box will hurt value. Right now I'm leaning towards returning the really damaged 3 and keeping the one that's only dented and scraped up and asking for a discount because of the damage. Quote

I suggest trying to get a credit and keep them. You will have no problem selling these in the future as people will want to build it and care less about the box. You could also sell it as no box deal to help reduce postage costs. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app Quote
Dbroncoboy Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Looks more like a "Super Box Destroyer". It's a shame... i honestly have to wonder what they do with these when they get sent back Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Really, honestly, if you are on Ebay - unless something is Mint , and like super Mint, you can always still get your asking price for it. I have been selling my 6868 Hulk Helicarriers. I have several that were super destroyed boxes. I listed them that way with "contents verified" - sold no problem at $105 which was the same price I sold my other 10 of them at. Gonna do the same thing with the 4 damaged Wolverines I have (after the good ones i have sell out). 1 Quote
Bold-Arrow Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I would try to get a refund and keep them for a minute .. If they come back you can decide themn. if not, I would recommend keeping them with a discount Quote
