Perhaps there is additional risk / cost with shipping such a large, heavy object across the Eurozone and multiple post offices than there is with shipping across the US?

Seems like more opportunities for changing hands, and with something this big and heavy, that's not a good thing.

All i know is, THIS is why its great to have a world wide site, where our non-US friends have the unbelievable opportunity to know WITH CERTAINTY that a marquee set is retired, AND some of them are able to buy them at quantity AND at a discount.

This is a truly rare opportunity, and i hope you're all enjoying it :)

Odd. I know for a fact businesses are not able to backorder ssd in nl anymore. I would guess lego.com is also selling their last stock.

But im in this for the long run anyway, i have patience :)

For something to be retired, it should say so on LEGO Shop at Home. In the US, I thought it already said retired, but in Netherlands or Europe, the set is still available from LEGO Shop at Home

I don't care where you live in the World, If you can still buy the SSD at a good price buy them, as many as you can afford, and with the 3 Star War Movies coming you will make plenty of money. I am still confused about alot of guys that were saying it will take 3-5 years to reach $800 after it retired when for the last 2 years I been on here telling everybody to buy buy and buy them. Ed

I had none last month....and now I have 5! Gotta work on getting the next 5 now. Might take me a while, as these are quite expensive. =

was that top of the shelf? must be a nice workout getting them up there. any specific reason for that? i usually put larger set on the bottom of the shelf. also i extrapolate that you have your haunted house stacked five { assuming its five.} are you sure the box on the bottom is not giving up slowly?

SSD won't fit on the bottom row of these shelves. Look how the 7965 barely fits
