hepcatpunk Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Personally I love the set, but I know many others don't. 52 is decent for it---the Target nearest me sold out rather quickly at that price. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 not sure where to put this.......whats the thought on 52 for ghost train? worth jumping on board?I thought it was a good deal when I saw it at the end of August in Target and I believe they sold out rather quick too. 35% off is a rather rare sale to come by (at least for me it is). StompingFreak Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 For UK buyers. Manchester & Liverpool Lego stores still have lots of stock. Maybe worth grabbing whats there. Not the best investment, but every Halloween these sets will be wanted. Stomping Quote
jstegman Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Has anyone combined these sets to make a cool Halloween display? I was thinking about making a little city and using my CMF to go trick or treating with! Just looking for some good ideas to use as a base to display most of the sets. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 My wife kind of wants to put a bunch of them together. Don't know how it will look though since they sort of have a different feel to each of them except for the VC and HH together. But I think it would be cool. Quote
MartinP Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 If I were to do something like that, I would have the Haunted House as the centerpiece of the whole display. Next to it, I would have some of the larger sets like the Vampyre Castle. Then you could build a graveyard and have a battle scene there. Quote
jstegman Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Are all the sets the same scale? I bought them all early in the year and just have them boxed away. I really like the idea of making a grave yard next to the house and have a little monster pow wow! I just struggle to have a base that makes it look like a cut away or seemless sceen. I have done something similar with my seasonal holiday sets and I got some decorative snow to put down so it looks like everything is covered in snow, then just cleared paths for each of the buildings. However, I can't figure out a cool way to do the Halloween ones. Quote

exciter1 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 My son and I have put a few together over the past couple weeks. Here's how they look side-by-side: 1 Quote
jstegman Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Thanks for posting those, looks like a lot of fun builds. However they are different scales, more to think about, The castle is much bgger than I thought. Quote

Perhaps, the main scene could have the smaller sets in the front, and then the Vampyre Castle could be in the background? I think it would add a mysterious feeling to the castle, which would be cool. Diabolos80 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I'm disappointed the sets aren't to scale. I too had planned to do a halloween scene, but it ended up just being the castle with a small graveyard and some extra figs. I highly recommend the accessory pack that comes with a witch, ghost, and zombie. There are other, non-MF sets you could look at, too. Shelob is a good fit, for example. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Just got an Email from Lego promoting Monster Fighters which I find somewhat strange considering they have clearanced them out most places. It makes sense to promote them, but why didn't you wait to clearance them until right after halloween? Maybe to just get rid of them. More importantly though, does this mean we might get one more shipment of the VC at Lego? Hope not. I have 7 waiting to appreciate. Quote
nolanfan34 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I got the same one, but interestingly it was only talking about the Haunted House. Maybe that is all they are pushing. Celebrate Halloween with a $180 set! :-) Quote
MartinP Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 That is very interesting. I will have to check my emails to see if I got it. Quote
Anakinisvader Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Monster fighter sets, not including Haunted House, are 30% off in LEGO B&M stores. They are probably just giving it one last push to clean out the inventory. 1 Quote

exciter1 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I've received the same email before, but not today. Quote

matt1147 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 My email targeted only the Haunted House...but he subject line said "celebrate with monster fighters" Quote
rcdb1984 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Would this mean that the MF theme is going EOL? probably...where u been LoL Quote
zinger-lego Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I am doing much the same, will post pictures later in the week. Vampire House as the center piece with Shelob and the two tiny spiders and trees from Escape from Mirkwood. I bought the Halloween accessory pack and will add that in too. Quote
sadowsk1 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Monster fighter sets are still out there so why not promote them during the appropriate time of year? I would believe the Lego has some things discounted to get people interested and want to collect more since they are relatively low price items that got discounted. Quote
jaylay Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 just a handful of accessory sets and thats it ... after the 30% off MF sale, everything else was bought. of course HH doesnt count ... those are still on the shelf here ... Quote
