Selling Lego on Amazon.com

I had 2 active tagged, no inactive.

But how many inactive listings do you have?
I’m considering if the number of inactive listings is s factor.

And the more important issue seems to be, can you list something new without having to jump through the hoops?

I haven’t seen anyone complain in the last week or two that yet can’t list a new set.

I have about 70 listings. 25 were inactive at the time as they sold out in the past few weeks and I hadn't closed them in case of returns. I received notifications for 8 listings. 3 were Inactive and 5 were Active.

In my experience, the one that was the most interesting was an an inactive set that Amazon still has stock of themselves. I was surprised they wanted safety info from me for a product they themselves currently sell.

So still everyone is scared to tell what sets these are because they are now selling off these sets. I dont get why it is a secret. Thanks to the few helping others out by listing the sets in question.

At least in my case, I'm dealing with thousands of dollars worth of inventory I need to quickly move with listings that aren't really selling that quickly. If someone is sitting on inventory, reads that a particular set number is involved, and also worries about being able to move it over the holidays - they may ship their stock into FBA and also dump the inventory - further bringing the price down.

I'm not suggesting it's not selfish, but, this is a business.

There's no rhyme or reason to which listings were chosen by Amazon to require docs except that they're consistently with the word "Toy" in the title. Not all listings with "Toy", but a portion of them. It's not just LEGO. I would guess the listings weren't originally created by Amazon (even if Amazon is still selling on them), based upon the title wording being inconsistent with other LEGO (or other brand) listings. It's also generally newer sets (roughly 2016 or newer). I have listings for thousands of sets, mostly a lot older than 2016, and didn't spot any older sets coming under scrutiny (and some of "Toy" in the title).

I can tell you it includes:

  1. 10815
  2. 10808
  3. 10724
  4. 10728
  5. 41124
  6. 41130
  7. 31053
  8. 41149
  9. 10735
  10. 10734
  11. 60147
  12. 10855
  13. 70349
  14. 76081

I can see why some would keep secret. Are the sets you listed all the flagged ones or ones that are fine to sell?

Thanks for listing them. I have sold the Milano and still in my inventory but inactive. I did not get an email for that though. I sell through my sets fast so I dont have any of those left.  More worried about current sets I have stockpiled. Very concerning.

it does beckon the question as to why not all sellers were asked for that .. something is weird here.

@cory730, did you sell FBA or FBM for this specific listing (https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Marvel-Abilisk-76081-Superhero/dp/B01MTL5BR4/)? Your profile suggests you do a mix. And, did you create your listing more than, say, a month ago?

I have sold almost every set on that list and still have listings (out of stock) for them.  I only got the e-mail about a few of them and not every one on the list.  A few I haven't sold for months/years, but I never delete old listings unless there is an issue.

Even with the new inventory performance? The old listings aren’t hurting you?

I go into the restock inventory page and then select all and "hide recommendations" every morning.  My seller central shows almost 10k listings, but only about 500 to 1000 are active at any given time.  My inventory score stays between 400 and 500.  I have also heard that the in stock rate doesn't really impact your inventory score, but I don't know if that is true.

Tax collection for orders shipped to New Jersey State - Effective November 1, 2018

Based on changes to New Jersey State tax law, Amazon will begin calculating, collecting, and remitting sales and use tax for all orders shipped to customers in New Jersey on November 1, 2018.

Your existing tax calculation settings, order details, and payments reporting will update automatically to reflect this change. No action to your tax settings or seller account is required.

Just a heads up: I've received my followup from Child Safety, as others have, saying the CPCs weren't enough and they need the original test report. This response applies to ASINs which weren't just LEGO.

As others have noted, the rejection includes this specific phrasing that is worrying: "By applying to sell these products you certify that all materials you submit in conjunction with your application are true, authentic, and accurate. Note that Amazon may remove your selling privileges for failing to meet these requirements."

Hopefully that phrasing relates to "true, authentic, and accurate" - and not to merely being unable to supply original lab results.
