We've seen this with other industries, too. Wood mills in the south being brought back online to meet demand only to shutter 18 months later, etc. I think the big part is US and global industry isn't built to deal with rapid down turn or upturn in supply and demand caused by outside forces. I have no knowledge of anyone I know having an Amazon selling account or leaving reviews on products I sell. How many boxes are in the shipment? I don't exactly remember the result, but the conclusion I came up with was that LTL wasn't worth the trouble. However, it'd be a big pain for me to do LTL, so that probably factored into it. I generally don’t bother with LTL when I have that few boxes. When I’m sending shipments of 100-200 boxes, I’ve found LTL to be about 1/2 to 1/4 of the price of UPS, particularly with shipments of case-packed sets.
