Dear seller,

Please read this email carefully. The listing information described below may affect your ability to sell certain products.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience, we are implementing approval requirements for the ASIN *****.

What does this mean for me?
Effective on 2018-11-17, you will not be able to list the affected products, and your listings for these products will be removed.

Why am I receiving this message?
You are receiving this message because you have sold affected products in the past. There is no penalty associated with this action.

How do I seek approval to sell the affected products?
Currently, you cannot list this ASIN.

We appreciate your cooperation in this important matter, and thank you for selling on Amazon.

This does not surprise me. There has definitely been alot of change from brand owners with regards to selling on Amazon. We have found alot of brands now only sell direct on Amazon, or will only allow authorized distributors to sell, or flat out do not want their items sold on Amazon at all (that last one is gaining popularity the reason being Amazon only accounts for 5% of total retail sales but their lowball pricing really harms the brand and the other 95% of the market for their items).

Was this for current sets? Where any retired sets included? I think we will have to wait and get more data points to see what the end game will be.

I always knew selling Lego on Amazon would not be forever but I am surprised (if this is legit) that they moved so quickly. Interesting times. Diversify and stay careful.

A lot of people can not list some of the new Harry Potter you can not even request approval. Someone people have gotten emails from Amazon that all their Hasbro listing are going to be removed.

A lot of the sellers blocked have been toys sellers from day 1 after TRU left.

I really don’t understand. I’ve applied several times, and they still deny me. I have 3 rooms full like this of sealed sets ranging from 2011-2018, along with a 600k plus parts inventory for BL and BO with great feedback. I guess I must be small time compared to other sellers on there. Oh well. I love sorting so I guess BL and BO it is ?47115DC2-DF41-4F71-9E15-263DA452D3E4.jpeg.aa368067d255102436c2c4ac9ed78711.jpeg

That's a holiday gate. It will lift on 1/5. Did your takedown refer to trademark violation?

No mention of trademark violation on this one.....simply states that I am receiving this message because I have sold this specific product in the past and that "Currently, you cannot list this ASIN"....I currently have three more in FBA which I will just reduce the price on and move them on instead of generating a removal order.

Isn’t a trademark violation the unauthorized use of a trademark or logo ? I googled *trademark number 2060284* and it is the description of the LEGO logo, shape, color, etc. I am not sure we should all conclude that LEGO in cooperation with AMAZON wants to kick all the third party sellers from selling LEGOs.

A bunch of people got the e-mails about certain items (Like Former Toys R Us exclusives that Amazon now has) being restricted after 11/17 with no impact to your account or anything.  I don't think they have anything to do with holiday gating or top 100 toys gating for the holidays.  I assume the restriction will remain after the holidays on those items.  I will be cautious with Amazon exclusive flipping from here on out unless they will sell on Ebay.  I remember getting stuck with those free Amazon holiday Gund bears after they restricted them (even though i'm approved in Gund.) I think Newbie is the only one here that has gotten that Trademark Lego protection e-mail.  I have only seen people get that one on mini-figure listings (from parting out), Lego bundle listings/duplicate listings, or unofficial items that are "compatible" with Lego.  I'm curious to know what ASIN(s) he got that trademark e-mail about and if it was really just a regular Lego set.

The new gates are just for the holiday season.  They will be lifted on 1/5/19.  There had been some notice earlier that they were going to gate the Top 100 toys or something like that and it looks like they applied those gates more broadly.

It's not LEGO, but is the Wonder Workshop CUE Robot a Top 100 toy? (In other words, will it be ungated after Jan 5th)? Just picked up two for $40 each at B&N and want to know if I should list them on EBay or just wait until after the holidays.

If you get an IP violation, there is virtually no way to fight it.  We make some of our own products, and have a registered trademark AND are in Amazon Brand Registry.   Yet some squatter filed a violation on one of our products and despite proof that it's our trademark, Amazon won't remove the ding.   They will ONLY remove it if the original claimant retracts their claim.

I don't know about that one, but my understanding is that all of the sets that were hard gated this week was just for holidays.

That brand auto approved for me.  All of the toys on the top 100 page that i've tried have auto approved for me.  I'm not sure why some people are being restricted on stuff like the Harry Potter sets and some of us are still fine on them.

Thanks! Looks like I have been auto-approved as well :)
