Man, you need to get out more.

I actually have been through most of the fifty states in the US but none really with a landmark that any Architecture set has been based on. Then again I may have seen a couple from a distance but I guess they weren't that impressing to make enough of a mark in my mind. Out of anything from my travels in much younger days, standing there at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial was the most humbling.

I understand that some people do not want to see buildings recently made by men, because it bores me so much that you would have to pay me a great amount to force me to visit these. ^^

On the other side I plan to see wall of china (2015), the Guadeloupe (2016) and hope some day I could see the niagara falls, grand canyon, pyramids and valley of the kings, japanese nature...

Ok for the trevi fountain or the tower of pisa, but the "robie house" or the "rockfeller center" ? Thanks but no thanks ! These would be the very lasts on my list... :P

To each their own. I have been to the Great Wall also and it's very impressive. Of course with things like the Pyramids you mainly marvel at how people could have built something on this scale without the aids of the industrial age. Buidlings like the Robie House / Guggenheim museum you mainly go to for the originality of the design.

Actually my visit to the Robie House was somewhat by accident. On one of my travels I had planned to take an Amtrak train from Chicago to New York but it was fully booked, so I crashed on the couch of a friend who lived nearby and booked the train for the next day. The following morning we took a walk around his area and I had seen in my travelguide this was a site of interest so we took the tour of the house. It was interesting (especially the way Frank Lloyd Wright integrated the design of the building with the design of the tainted windows, carpetry etc.) but unless you have a very strong interest in modern achitecture I can see why people would feel it's not really worth the trip.
