mykingdomforabrick Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I'm holding steady on my SW advents. I did dump my friends sets. Had many less of them and the outlook doesn't look shiny. See the same Galoroca seller must have had a pallet of those as well and he still has plenty left. 1 Quote

marcandre Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Do advent calendars hold any value after x-mas. Should I try and sell them asap or hold on to them if they don't sell? Dead money until next xmas. Be interesting to see what this set does next year. A lot of people will be left holding them, it really took a nosedive the last few weeks. Quote

The demand has not really slowed down though, just people undercutting. Guess I'm holding mine, or parting them out. Quote
SnowmanOlaf Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 , it really took a nosedive the last few weeks. Indeed. I was completely wrong about this set. I sold only about a quarter of mine at $70, then waited for the price to head upwards. Never did. Ended up liquidating the rest ~breakeven. Quote
newbie77 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 i guess the game has changed ;D people don't want to hold for more that few days ... having said that i sold few advent calendars (both city and star war) i had from 2012 this year . now out of all the calendars Quote

Just saw someone auctioned 5 of the same set 1 minute apart all ending on the same night. Needless to say they didn't do well. Then when people search they see lower prices and start dumping. Quote

anolian Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 I always look at the lowest and highest and the take an average on that I never post it at the lowest I know how much it can screw up things and then it takes a while for the price to bounce back. Quote
stackables Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Has last years drop a lot? I wouldn't mind picking up one for my collection. Was caught off guard last year. Quote
anolian Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 There is a local store were I live in Ottawa Canada. They have 2013,2012 caldendars still in stock and they ship. The store is playvaluetoys.com Quote
stackables Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 So what comes in the box for this? The one I received from Amazon had a loose seal stickers and the adhesion on one doesn't stick anymore. The box opens without the seal rather easily so I just opened up the box. Is the only thing in the box are all the compartments with a small piece/fig in each section? Nothing else? Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Yes, it's an advent calendar. What else would you like there to be? Quote
Ed Mack Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Yes, it's an advent calendar. What else would you like there to be? Candy. 3 Quote
ravenb99 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Candy. Wow the hardest I've laughed in days. Beat some of exciters one liners. Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Candy. Well that's the beauty of the tray sliding out. You can remove some of the crappy builds and replace those days with gummy bricks and hot tamales. Quote
TheBrickClique Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Mmmm... Dark Chocolate Santa Vaders... Quote
ravenb99 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 And that's no offense to exciter, he's got some darn good one liners!! 1 Quote
Ed Mack Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 My son ate all of the Advent Calender's candy on the first day. Quote
stackables Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Yes, it's an advent calendar. What else would you like there to be? Beats me. I have never opened one up so I had no idea what was suppose to be in the box. Quote
ravenb99 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Should just be filled trays. The seals do pop easily and can be loose 1 Quote

fuzzy_bricks Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 This reminds me of this scene in Bad Santa. Well they can't all be winners, can they? NSFW language 2 Quote
