Status of R2D2 has changed from "sold out" to "Out of stock, expected ship date 26 Nov 2014". The question is: Is it retiering or not?

Think SSD, HH and TH. This set will go in and out of stock multiple times on most of the major retailers. If you want one, you have to keep checking.

Customer Care Lego confirmed me that 10225 is EOL (by mail and by phone)

The email:

"Unfortunately , the set 10225 is sold out and will no longer be put into production. We are very sorry ... it was a product in great demand."

Finished my quota on him 2 weeks ago, now on to HE and R5

Seems a bit early for Red 5, but retirement of HE this year would be consistent with the lifespan of EN and MT.

I know, but I have a feeling about this one. It sat and sat and sat some more at same quantities at collishop and now it is gone from their site. It doesn't mean anything ofcourse, but rather pick some up at a "decent" price then to be caught without any of them.
