Cross Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 R2 is everywhere on the West Coast... I am yet to see him out of stock anywhere. Out here, the frenzy is yet to come. Quote

hannibal Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I've been observing Argos in the UK on a regular basis recently and just the day when the 3 for 2 promotion started..guess what, everything just went in less than 24-36hrs! For a set that's worth Quote

Cross Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Noted on Europe... Just finding R2's staggering U.S. Availability surprising. Certainly he'll begin to disappear with next year's UCS: Jar-Jar Binks life-size bust model arriving. 1 Quote
hannibal Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Yeah, after r2d2, of which I have a dozen at least, the next thing to focus on is the X-Wing. It is a great set, I've built one and have more on the side but 1 will be a keeper! Same with r2d2, apart from myself, a few other members of the family want one each...so, its not all evil investor deeds after all Quote
Cross Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I think the red 5 x-wing has epic investment potential simply due to the fact so few are talking about it. In five years the supply/demand ratio on this set is very heavily going to favor DEMAND. I also think it's going away sooner than folks anticipate. The box does this set no justice... Built it is an absolute beauty. And although TLG will certainly have future iterations of the x wing, none will ever again touch this level of detail. Strong investment buy. Quote
mscheaf Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I forgot about R2. So what is that now according to rumors, 87 big exlusive sets retiring this year? Or is it 88? Quote
Neosphinx Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I have one boxed as well... Have been able to resist opening. Did, however, have an epic FAIL on one of my Tumblers... Two nights ago, on account of partaking in a gratuitous amounts of a certain beverage, we opened and began building one. The thing is ridiculously cool. Beverage is so not good when around sealed boxes of cool lego 1 Quote
jaisonline Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 wait, this is the r2 thread. i'll create an x-wing thread if not already done and move some posts to there. please stay on topic including myself. ha Quote
hannibal Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Plenty of R2D2s on the shelves in both shops Milton Keynes and Westfield London. For those ones interested. Quote

airhanny Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Well, the reason I asked because I'm trying to order from TRU and I want to make sure to order the right amount so they come inside the original lego brown box. Quote
dcdfan Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Good luck to you. I've tried 4 before & still got 4 w/o case. Quote
Mos_Eisley Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Well, the reason I asked because I'm trying to order from TRU and I want to make sure to order the right amount so they come inside the original lego brown box. It's 2. But ordering in twos doesn't mean you'll get them in the original shipping carton. Quote

That's excellent, thank you so much for the info. No worries about safety, I make my girlfriend do the dirty work...she's a traitorous drunk anyway: 4 Quote
