Val-E
Having lost 100k in the property bubble, a few euros on LEGO is not gonna change much! This set is not available in any toy shop I have seen i my country and there are very few on EBay and similar. This means it has either been a total bomb or that it has gone under the investor radar. Either way, there will be less potential buyers than a Star Wars set but as mentioned above the rarity value to the right person will make it do OK if you are patient enough. Luckily I am not tempted to open this one for myself - yet!

Luckily I am not tempted to open this one for myself - yet! I know what you're saying and I did have high hopes for this set myself, but seeing the overall performance of the other sets of this line (and there have been other really nice and unique ones) I kind of gave up on this set as a good investment. Not only will it probably not go as high as other sets for the same price but also you'll need to sell it. To me SW and modulars are a safer bet, just saying. If I'm wrong I can make good money out of the sets that I own ^.^ (And I will probably be a little bit sad that I didn't buy more ;-) )
CNH1974
This set could have been a winner. If it was 20% cheaper at RRP. Which would have made it 10% more than the set it replaced; 10193. The lego stores are backed up with them and they are not allowed to discount them. It does look good though. :)
Val-E
No oficial Lego stores in my country so no worries about that Another point is that this set is not cheap but is within a reasonable point for LEGO - the apparently EOL SSD can
CNH1974
But you can buy a Maersk ship for only 10% more than that's a better investment. Plus the Sopwith camel and VW Camper are 20% cheaper.
Val-E
Sopwith and VW are not selling well here either - you can get them below MSRP on EBAY and people are taking a long time to bite. They are also widely available in department stores so there is a lot of stock to get through before they will turn a profit. What happens after EOL may be different but I don
gopalkrishnan
This set truly looks like a winner as compared to other lego sets. Looking at the pictures it found it less attractive. Also the pice of the set is also quite expensive for me.
Val-E
The box design is not very attractive compared to other modulars. What is certain is that it is EOL so get one while you can.
ediebrickette
I liked this when it came out end of 2011, was sure I'd pick a couple up, then fell off the map for three years. Surprised it was still around. Seems a casualty both of the lack of Kingdoms mojo and overpricing. The only things attractive to me really are the falcon stuff, which now I'd just pick off BL. Probably will have its moment discounted on LEGO Shop at Home on its last legs. Maybe after BM. Spartikis
I wouldn't jump to judging how a set is or will perform until its at least retired. So many people jumping the gun to claim a set is a flop when it has not even retired, ridiculous how everyone is worried about the quick returns when you actually make more money playing the waiting game. emazers
You would be better off getting 5 Batman Ayslums then 8 Joust.

inversion
Even at 20% off? Do you believe that rAA<1.2*rKJ ? I don't. For an exclusive that LEGO has to keep on discount just to get rid of it this is very unlikely. Edited December 3, 2014 by inversion

Ed Mack
Even at 20% off? Castle sets never appreciate like Batman sets. Kingdoms Joust is a quality set for $95, but you get what you pay for as they say. You won't see LEGO discount AA.
Ciglione
I will not burn my fingers on Kingdom's Joust. I will leave them for the rest. With great pleasure.

You won't see LEGO discount AA. Slow and steady is possible. As long as expectations are reasonable, I see no reason why this won't follow the MMV trajectory...not great, and longer hold time. There is money to be made here, but for small and mid-sized investors might be hard to park your cash here.

Agree with what you've said though I would argue that MMV is a higher quality set than KJ.
Veegs
Agree with what you've said though I would argue that MMV is a higher quality set than KJ. I think MMV is cooler in some ways too, or at least a little more unique. I'm surprised it hasn't had a little better track record post EOL, actually. inversion
This is a nice set, but misses the "wow" factor. That's why it doesn't appreciate well. And doesn't contain any licensed hero/vehicle people may be attached to. Edited December 4, 2014 by inversion
allen9917
Yes, AA will do much better than KJ, but AA is out everywhere now. What's the next retiring exclusive to grab before the discounted KJ? How about ToO vs. 20% off KJ?
