First of all...I really like black and red.  There is just something about that color combination.

Second, I had no idea who Jek-14 was.  I saw this set on Amazon about 10-12 months ago.  I thought the set looked really cool but had no vested interest because I was unaware of the Yoda Chronicles.

When I finally got back from overseas this summer, I asked my kids.  Boy did they rave about Jek-14 and his exploits.  We watched the Yoda Chronicles together and I thought it was a funny series and the Jek-14 was an interesting character...

So I bought the set.

Just built it tonight.  Only took an hour and a half with some "help" from time to time from the kids...

Here is how the build looked:

Opened the box and poured out bag #1.  Jek-14 thought he'd supervise.

Jek checking out my work after bag 1 was finished.

Bag 2 done and he's not quite sure what to make of this contraption without wings.  He said he could build it faster.

Bag 3 was finished quickly and he was in a rush to load the holocrons so he insisted R4 help him out.

Once bag 4 was done and there was finally a wing...he thought he'd inspect to make sure it was attached correctly.  R4 was "supervising."

Final product.  Jek seems happy.  He threw on his helmet and was ready to take off!

Overall I think this is a cool looking set with a great minifig in Jek-14.  The Special Forces Clone Trooper is cool as well.  I always have fun building LEGO so the fact that this was fun is no real surprise.  It's not up there with R2 or some Technic I've put together...but a nice quick build while kids were taking turns taking showers and getting ready for bed.

I do have one boxed up in my closet as well in case this becomes an item in demand for the holidays.

P.S. Sorry you have to turn your head for the first few pics...lesson learned for next time.
