gregpj Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Those are spring-loaded missiles, not flick missiles, right?Yes.. I am thinking you have to put your finger into the front circle plate to fire it. If I eventually buy it, I will remove those. Yuck. Quote
California92563 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Very cool! I love how unique poe's x-wing is and I love those new Rebel pilot helmets! And the falcon looks great and the variety of minifigs in that set is impressive, Both are day one purchases for me so bring on the other sets! Edited July 15, 2015 by California92563 Quote
gregpj Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I'm a fan of the Han Solo minifig as well. I can see your point about the greebling, but it just hardly seems worth the extra $140ish price tag for a very slightly updated version of 7965. I guess my opinion is a tad negative because I have the old one built and displayed, and it's not different enough to warrant 2 of them IMO. If the new movies are a hit, I can see OT fans buying this new one and then yearning for the original too. I think 7965 will take an initial hit but could bounce back eventually. The good news is we should have a couple years to decide. 1 Quote
Locutus001 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Nice! Finally we get some pics!Millenium Falcon looks good, will be interesting to see the interior.Minifigs look awesome, even though I really don't like the new R2 unit... I mean BB-8... it looks stupid... X-Wing... meh... the minifigs are awesome though! Edited July 15, 2015 by Locutus001 Quote
hepcatpunk Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Old Han making me feel old. Love the X-Wing, just in time for Halloween! Quote

Yuck.My kid never plays with those to avoid the tension that losing them might bring later. They usually go in a baggy with the rest of the extra parts. Quote

brickinfinite Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 This may be a redundant question but when is the release date for the new Star Wars sets? Quote
freakchem Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I guess this is a good news for the UCS X wing since poe's x wing doesn't look that nice.... Quote

pete411 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I don't have the last X-Wing fighter 9493. Other than the different colors, are there any differences between the old one and Poe's? Quote
trekgate502 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 freakchem I just told a friend -I am excited for Red Five no worries here.I also wish I kept more of the 9493 I love the new sets but its not the traditional x wing so no worry for those that kept 9493 in my opinion. Also I am glad I dumped my 7965 I love it but people will not pay a premium for it over this one in my opinion.Kept 1 of each for my archives. They usually go in a baggy with the rest of the extra parts. Our kids just like to spread them around the house and ask for help to look for them - which really means can you look for them while I do something else.... at least they're hard to vacuum up. 2 Quote
Ciglione Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Looks OK to me. Finally something new under the sun. What are we (7965 owners) going to do? Sell now or wait? Quote
nolanfan34 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Literally just sold my last 9493 today. I would have held it had I seen this first. Oh well. I'm stoked anyway these both look awesome. 1 Quote
Ciglione Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I dunno if we should be so happy about R2 disappearing from the new sets. Makes my fear more plausible that R2 will be destroyed in one of the movies? Quote
JosephMali Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Killing R2 would be like killing a beloved dog (think American culture here) in a movie. It will never happen. Edited July 15, 2015 by JosephMali Quote
