i don't know where you got 200 number from but simply from your post it seems to me that you are referring to target (ebay). its puchasers http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&item=271805118888&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2564  basically are less than 50 QTY since Jan 02nd. i seriously doubt this time around we will see the movement of sets like we saw last year. horde have tons of exclusives in their storage and don't have the $$$ required for the purchase.

Target eBay had 4087 sets available sometime yesterday afternoon.  They now have 3905.  The inventory based on my history and input of other friends is a shared eBay and target com inventory that is continually refreshed.  I may not be right but that is my assumption and makes sense.  Based on that target should run out in about three or four weeks

now that makes sense.. target (total inventory).  thank you for the explanation.

at least big $$$ is not buying this set yet. not sure of the reason. otherwise we would have seen 100s depleted in hour. :)

There is really no way to say this without sounding like an ahole but here it goes, and this goes for all sets.......if you dont like the set or think it has no potential to make you money then simply don't buy it and don't talk about it. What does it acomplish by saying stuff like that? Absolutely nothing. Focus on what you like and what you think will be a good investment. Bottom line is no one should care what anyone has to say about any set.......I know I don't. Arguing if a set is going to be a winner or not doesn't do anything.

Not sure if this was directed at me but respectfully if no one could discuss concerns about a set they have and look for input of others then I do not know what the point of this website is for we have alerts so no need to discuss anything that that comes in stock that is found deals on websites any more (I have been told that) and now if I don't like something I shouldn't discuss iT

I posted my comments because maybe someone can help me change my idea etc discuss communicate I thought that is what forums are for

i am not a troll and I rarely a negative on anything just ask newbie

i can almost gurantee that its not directed to you. but to me. somehow our dear moderator stephen_rockefell*  doesn't like to hear anything than people picking up pom-pom and shouting buy buy buy!

How accurate is Target's inventory? 4000+ units seems like a lot! Thats probably a shipping container worth just for one set? Unless LEGO force Target to swollow all that stock in order to get something in return, I am skeptical they actually have 4000+ units of this sku

The run rate on the tumbler at Amazon at toy rank of 64 is 3400 per month

I believe the target numbers are very real

only can guess though

for my investment strategy I am not going deep on this set - not that anyone should really care. works for me, doesn't mean it works for anyone else.

I care because your storage room would look even more awesome with a few stacks of these ;)

That's what I thought when I posted the pic of targets shared inventory (eBay and target.com) of 4,084 sets at 13:56 EST on Sunday 1/3/2016 after BN sold out. I then checked the inventory of all other exclusives over $100 that Target has and the next closest was Simpsons House at approximate 1,800 followed by Hellicarrier and Kwik E Mart while most like  sandcrawler had less then 400. So well over double of any other set made me question it too. I remember when Amazon had over 1000 SSD (I abbreviated that one) and we all woke up one morning and they were gone.

If there is this much stock for a set that has only been out for 1 year, wouldn't that mean other sets that have been out for years would have been majorly hoarded?

No matter how many thousands of units there are still available in the market right now for the Tumbler, there would have been many multiples more for other sets that have been out for many years, like Pet shop, palace cinema, death star.

Which means that ultimately, the total number of Tumbler sets produced will be significantly lesser than the other sets that have been in production longer.

Mark this.  Everyone will be sold out in about 30-45 days.  You have some time........no F5 just yet.

Target is currently selling around 300+per week, most likely to increase as the weeks go by.  There number was at around 5000 3+ weeks ago.  It is possible Lego will dump some later this week or next on them to have the tag "Sold Out" for Shop at Home.

It's obvious that along with other large exclusives as well as smaller off the radar sets, The Lego Group wants select sets gone from Shop at Home; It's looks as though they have accomplished that yet again, in the time they felt nessecary; Whether they dump on Target, Walmart, TRU, Amazon or B&N.

I see no reason for this set not to be a decent return in the future....

Hey do you guys remember when the X-Wing and Death Star were marked as Retiring soon and they stayed in stock for days and WEEKS without selling out?

Glad i didn't buy any of those losers.

If something doesn't sell out before i know about it,,,,,,,,,,loser.

Are you exaggerating? Or is this the truth?

This thread is about the Tumbler set.  Sure, we allow 99% of threads to go off-topic at time but lately, this thread has become ridiculous with sarcastic, sexual innuendo and generalizations of Americans based on TV watching.  It's enough.  Please try to remain on-topic or you might be put into mod "approval post" mode for a couple of days.

please remember we do have younger members on this site as Lego is still technically a toy.
