76023 is a great set to build and display. Just fragile as all heck. The minifigs and stand are icing on the cake.

Agree. Fragile is no problem for display sets tho. Have you tried to straighten the 'flags' in the Architecture UN building? A nightmare. Still, just don't touch it after you are done. Who wants to play with that anyway lol.

Still plenty left in Smyths at that discount. Ireland has a smaller market and less resellers clearing shelves than Britain.

And there was I thinking I was lucky :-) I've never sold internationally on ebay before. Time to start if I'm to offload my collection.

We have to factor in higher postage costs to sell to British or continental buyers. I see sets sitting on our local websites (like craigslist/gumtree) for ages. Compared to prices quoted here for current market price of ebay/amazon, they are cheaper, yet languish. It's difficult to move anything locally. Ebay seems to be the most viable vehicle, but you've got to factor in the higher fees and buyers looking for discounts/refunds for any spurious reason.

From reading about price trends on this site for the last couple of months it seems this immediate healthy increase in Tumbler ebay prices could be mainly atributed to resellers giddy with impulse buying EOL fever. This initial short term demand and price upsurge in turn perpetuates a short term avalanche until the buy-in seems too steep for the long-term profit-to-hold ratio.

Auction on eBay just concluded this afternoon at £280. So almost doubled. Can only assume that this is people who feel they've missed the boat and thus desperate to get onboard. I would expect this to come down and settle in the low 200's and then slowly appreciate, since if you look hard enough you can still pick these up on the shelves. As to where it settles who knows? Depends on how good the new film is and future films including a potential justice league film. What's not indisputable is that it's cool and iconic and in a few years this should be a good investment. I'm happy with the five that I have and will probably not be able to resist the urge to build one of them in the near future.

I got a set from Target with the box in unacceptable (for reselling at least) condition.

I went to return it in the store, and the clerk was ordered by her boss to cut the factory seal to "check it's contents" to make sure everything was there.

I cringed a bit and told her she shouldn't cut the FACTORY seal. Her boss insisted she do it anyway. She just quickly glanced at the sealed bags inside and said all is good. SMH. Anyhow, I got my refund and went on my merry way...

Flippers just got their eBay GCs from holiday listings. I should have one coming for close to $200, reread the fine print, have 2 weeks still for them to process

Traslation: I'm buying a tumbler off eBay if at MSRP from holiday GC, I'm sure others doing the same

Over 100 tumblers have been sold on ebay within less than two weeks at retail.  I can only assume this set will sell well once sold out.

Over 250 in past 4 days at BN their down to 85 left.

GCs and eBay Bucks to bad Niko pulled his listing for $195.
