newbie77 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 also i don't think TLG will produce more than 200,000/yr (or in total) of this set. @ $200 ea. that's already 40,000,000 . $40 million which is already 1% of their $4billion sales. if they do produce that much then trust me its time to get out of reselling LEGO and find other means to supplement income. DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 So I picked up my second Tumbler today at a Lego store. I casually asked the employee, "why is this not available online?" And she smiled and said, "because our company is all about people and we want people to experience Legos in out store and not online." She said it with a straight, yet smiling face. By the way, my Tumbler cost me $170 total. Sweet! To be fair, they have started doing this and it is smart. Getting people in and looking at sets is a big deal in hooking more people. I don't think they do everything they can do - not having coupons or sales at all, but the store I go to is busier and busier everytime I go. Quote
No More Monkeys Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 If tumbler showed up on same day in all retailers, with limit 5 at LEGO Shop at Home, resellers would not be as hoardy 1 Quote
allen9917 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 If they keep their words and don't put it online, then I don't see how it won't run out during Christmas frenzy. The stores can't keep up, plus there are a lot of buyers don't have access to a lego store. That means $$$$$ for resellers. Am I too optimistic? Quote
Flemdog33 Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 You are not helping me as I'm sure several if not most anybody on this forum who is buying this set is trying to make money. I sure am! Quote
oneknightr Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Picked up a second Tumbler on Saturday in the Pleasanton, CA store. There were two on the shelves and I'm sure there were some in the back (I didn't ask). Cashier said limit one per person when I asked. I agree that this will be readily available at the stores. Sucks for the people that aren't close to one and want one for Christmas. I'll definitely be unloading both of mine during the Christmas buying frenzy. Quote

glenbart Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 It will go back online once they have the stock, keeping it in only in store, never heard of anything so ridiculous. This is a temporary measure for sure. Last month it was 21109, this months it's the tumbler, next move probably the UCS Slave 1. Quote
mscheaf Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Wont be much of a frenzy if Lego have stock. I will say it again. Everyone expecting big time xmas flipping $$$$$ is probably going to be really really dissapointed. Especially those that paid a full $200 plus tax. Quote

Especially those that paid a full $200 plus tax. I don't think anyone is recommending buying 30 Tumblers to flip, but it wouldn't hurt having a few in case the market does explode for a few weeks prior to XMAS. Quote

mushedroom Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 with the huge popularity of the UCS tumbler... i wonder what this means for the poly bag version I bought like 50 of these. ugh hopefully i'm not stuck with them at zero profit Quote
glenbart Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Havent you heard...? This polybag is up to Quote

mscheaf Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 The super duper rare only found in every single lego store on earth sure fire $500+ xmas flip Tumbler was spotted on wbshop. Pretty strange for something so rare and that is going to be worth a billion dollars this december. 1 Quote

jgschmieg3 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Picked up my third today. Xmas flip written all over them. This is a no brainer IMO. Quote
Young_Gun21 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Question for you guys: Should i pick one of these up for possible Christmas flip or use funds elsewhere Quote
golong Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 My view. Pick a couple up. No great risk and a good chance of making good profits on a quick flip. I am looking more at long term investments but I have picked up 2 with a view to probably selling in the lead up to Christmas. Quote
ravenb99 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Personally I would. Its a low risk holiday flip. I've sold 15 since they came out and have 5 more built up. Plus with double points and holiday 1 you're getting for 160+tax. You'll always be able to get your money back on it quickly if you need to. Quote
shirow Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I'd feel more confident in holiday flipping once the 90+ ebay listings are gone! Quote
ravenb99 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Just put it in perspective with the other sets people are willing to flip at Xmas (Millenium Falcon, Dolphin Cruiser, Cinderellas Castle, BatCave, Police Stations, Benny's Spaceship). If those are considered good flip sets by most on BP then the Tumbler is a an absolute no brainer (Hard to find, hard to purchase in quantity and one of the most popular themes made. All of the above examples went for around 1.5x-2x retail last Xmas (excluding Benny's) so everyone should want to have a few for this holiday. Quote
glenbart Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 hahahahah i WISH! It's an error, need to tell Jeff about it I guess. what did you pay for 50 tumblers if you don't mind me asking? Quote
