jonnyhanukkah Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) I managed to snag one too. Let's see if and when it actually ships. When something like this pops back up with a few limited items left in stock, where do you reckon the stock comes from? Is it a safe purchase or are you better off popping the seals to make sure everything inside is sound and no minifgs were removed? Edited August 29, 2016 by jonnyhanukkah Quote

Lost and now found I would presume . also they might have assumed control over a 3p's inventory . 1 Quote

pcaster Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I'm guessing these will most likely come from 3P seller stock that was either dispositioned as misplaced at some point and the seller was reimbursed as BA mentioned, or from returns to 3P sellers that arrived very late and after the seller was already reimbursed for a non returned item. I had one of those on a Tumbler not too long ago. Quote

I will be sure to report when/if I receive my Tumbler. Quote

I'm going with the 3p's inventory. I received mine today from Sunday's order and as I was weighing it I noticed there was a $200 price tag on the bottom of the box. The box weighed exactly 3.47kg, so I assume it's fine. 2 Quote

While trying to put the finishing touches on my "Why I hate Amazon" blog, I received this gem: Hello, Due to a lack of availability, we will not be able to obtain the following item(s) from your order: "LEGO Superheroes 76023 The Tumbler (Discontinued by manufacturer)" We've canceled the item(s) and apologize for the inconvenience. If you see a charge for the canceled item, we will refund you within 1-2 business days. Not that I really needed anymore Tumblers, I just like free money. So, as you can see, my blog is nowhere near complete. I don't want to ruin the surprise but the new title will be "Why I truly hate Amazon & Bezos." Quote

It would be nice if they would just grab one from another 3P seller and just eat the difference... 1 Quote
zulkifleeabd Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Is Lego Batman Tumbler a good investment? I'm keen to purchase Lego Batman Tumbler but kinda divided with either UCS Star Wars Sandcrawler and Batman Tumbler. Seeking anyone opinion on this. Currently i'm thinking of getting only one. Which one should i choose? Quote
Sandman77 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Well the tumbler retired last December/January so if you get one at rrp then go for that. The sandcrawler is still available from Lego so it is likely to be a while before it rises in value. Quote
Deanfjr Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 this thread needs to be deleted.... seems faux Quote
dcdfan Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I think the OP is saying, should I spend $300 on a Tumbler or a Sandcrawler. It would depend on when you're looking to sell and what profit you're happy with. Quote
Popular Post Anomander Posted September 5, 2016 Popular Post Posted September 5, 2016 (edited) Nearly every new reseller and their dog has these two sets targeted, hoarded and future growth stunted, based on the LEGO=#betterthangold viral articles that swept the internet over the last year. The idiot's guide to every newb becoming a savvy LEGO millionaire was based on a select few rare sets skyrocketing after many-a-year in a lonely attic. Cue all the exclusive and most attractive sets being ramped up in production by LEGO, and stockpiled by the casual browsing, average Joe/Jane, would-be wallstreet wizards, hungry for the easy buck, only to find the mass stampede, that they themselves excitedly got swept along in, has trampled the former profits. It seems the smaller, under-the-radar sets are a better gamble nowadays. There are large threads on both sets here already filled with many peoples' pair of cents on the cloudyness of their own crystal balls. In other words - put both names in a hat and whichever you draw first is as good a prediction you'll be likely to get in this new era of mass hoarding.
