guess they never heard of Warner Brothers store where it is $25 cheaper .  http://www.wbshop.com/product/batman+dark+knight+trilogy+the+tumbler+lego+set+batlgset07.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=&from=Search

if i were in your position, i would go ahead and drop ship :) to turn the shipping cost into profit.  :money:

How does drop shipping help in this situation?  Paying $275.95 for the tumbler from WB when after fees you will receive less than $275.95 from PayPal?  It seems like you lose $ and have to worry about box condition shipped from WB.  Am I missing something?

Yeah, noticed this set has almost double the listings of the other recently retired exclusives and one auction only got 205 GBP today. Let´s see how the others do.

I think we'll see a few go for €200-220 with that many auctions. I just hope it's end users buying them and not other investors.

I have been watching this very closely, and it seems as though Amazon sells probably 10 a day and eBay around five a day.  So what the rate is going if it maintains a price of 300 most reseller stock will be definitely gone within the year. At least the retail sellers that are going to willing to sell for 300 to 320.  It will be a slow rise, if more resellers are only going to sell the product for 340 to 350 as then the number people willing to pay will start to drop off.  When we will see the price truly skyrocket will be around year two.

Compared to red five, this is already doing better. There are 120+ resellers on amazon for red five vs 80 for the tumbler.  And the Tumblr is selling for more than revive by 5- 10 bucks on average.  red five has been retired longer to, so in theory it should have less sellers and less stock.

The tumbler has an abnormally high interest level for the price point of the set. That is why it will do well.

I would love to trade one of my tumblers for red five if anyone is interested.   Right now it is an even trade, but in the long run the tumbler is likely the better investment. I just don't feel like paying aftermarket prices for red five.

Red Five is just starting to become relevent. Luke reintroduced into the new trilogy, plus Rogue One taking place in the original trilogy era, I think Red Five is far more valuable at this point.

So, about your Amazon numbers... you're pretty far off. They are currently selling at a rate of 50 per day on Amazon, and the average over the last month is close to 80 per day. The average since the set was released is hovering around 40 per day.

That being said... the worst this set has ever done was November of this year, and leading up to Christmas... where it was only moving 5-10 units per day. I think this set will do well, but it's something to consider - when nearly all other toys increased in sales volume during this holiday season, the Tumbler had a dramatic decrease instead. Then, sales spiked to all-time highs right after Christmas. Sales are currently dropping quite rapidly, though. At the current rate they will be back under 20 per day by the end of the month, and likely drop below 10 per day by March.

While there is an increase in relevance, there is also in an increase in x wing sets and supply.  How many times has the x wing been done??  Twice as a UCS and too many times to count as various other size sets.  If someone wants a lego x wing the options are numerous.  Plus it is an almost guaranteed to be remade in the future. Either as a UCS or as a larger set. Any of which hurts the long term potential of red five.  There will always be a new xwing set in the future to lower red fives value.

The chance if the tumbler being temade in any format for lego is slim to none.  If you want a lego tumbler your options are almost non existent.

Thanks for the more accurate figures.  I have been adding all The tumblers into my cart that are available from sellers and have just been counting how many disappear per day.  Not the most scientific.

Wait. Rewind. Weren't you just asking if somebody wanted to trade you a Red Five for a Tumbler? Based on your point of view, why would you want to do so?

Because i want to open it to build.  I only in the last two weeks got back into legos after being gone from 2007-2016 and am behind on sets.  I was heavy into legovesting from 2004-2007.

If I am to buy a red five now it is 280-290.  If someone trades it is only cost of shipping.  I cannot just sell a tumbler as after fees, shipping, etc.. I only make 12 dollars. While a tumbler would be an even trade at this point in time for a red five based in sales data and would only require shipping.  I am not getting one for investment purposes.  Hence why I only want one.  If I was investing I would buy/trade for many more.

I've been watching like a hawk, it kept changing a lot and it did say available at one point. So I ordered one, we'll see what turns up. I'm expecting it's a return. However customer service assured me they would be getting some.

This one arrived today minty fresh to my pleasant surprise. 27S5. Guess there could be more in the Smyths supply chain?
