jaisonline Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Body built (end of book 1). Technic elements used for the inner body that will "catch" and "hold" R2's middle leg once built. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app Quote
jaisonline Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Attaching R2's inner leg and dome. Note: I am building out of order. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app Quote
nolanfan34 Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I love this thread. I have a couple of these but haven't built one, this thread is not helping me keep this NISB. :-) Really surprised at the variety of colored pieces, looks weird during the build but I can see why they do it. 1 Quote
jaisonline Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Started the outer legs last night. I'll post pics of one leg since their builds are nearly identical. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app 1 Quote

kunfuzd Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 R2 head with some slopes. It can be better but its an example!!! A little off topic, but I've tried searching for LDD files. Are there websites dedicated to those who not only MOC but use Lego Digital Designer? Quote
jaisonline Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 A little off topic, but I've tried searching for LDD files. Are there websites dedicated to those who not only MOC but use Lego Digital Designer? yeah, just a tad off-topic. ha you should prob create a thread asking the same question (after doing a google search) Quote
jrivera2002 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 can you supply an element list with quantity used in the above example? ...only the added parts to smooth the dome Here is the list hope it can help you!! I like it and im planing to buy these pieces to smoot the head!! 6 Quote
jaisonline Posted July 24, 2014 Author Posted July 24, 2014 Here is the list hope it can help you!! I like it and im planing to buy these pieces to smoot the head!! Don't forget an extra 2x4 plate to raise the top sensor (where R2's radar dish usually comes out of). That would keep the same height ratio of it and surrounding elements, Quote
jhammill24 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 This was a fun build for me. I appreciated the different color bricks on the interior. They stand out for ease of build and reduce the strain of constant white bricks. It was a pain in the butt to get R2 to stand how I wanted him too...which is why I freak out when people want to pick him up and look at him! But everyone who sees him is impressed. How do you get the light kit? Quote
jaisonline Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 I completed the build some days ago but haven't taken the "completed" pictures. Here are some leading up to the eventual final pictures. Connecting the arms to the body. Cover for top of arms Starting the feet. Completed feet 2 battery backs that attach to inner legs. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Coming along. I am thinking about building some or all of this set today. Its sweet as hell. Quote
jaisonline Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Coming along. I am thinking about building some or all of this set today. Its sweet as hell. I will admit, building it was a pleasant surprise. I had low expectations going into it. 10225 is def one of the fun builds available. Quote
jaisonline Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Completed build : Rear picture showing the battery packs and the pull mechanism handle that releases and catches the inner leg. Comparison of latest two R2 minifigs. Too bad the recent R2 from the latest Sandcrawler & Ewok Village wasn't included in recent produced 10225s. "Special features" Inner leg not used. Nice picture of entire build w/ minifigure and UCS display plaque. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app 3 Quote
jaisonline Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 While I wait to apply elements to smooth out the dome (been sitting in a bag for 6 months), here's a "quick fix". 6 Quote
Sandwraith Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Here is the list hope it can help you!! I like it and im planing to buy these pieces to smoot the head!! Bit late (only just saw this), but this is great! I love R2's model, except for the blocky/study-like head. Now don't get me wrong i'm not against studs being visible, but R2's whole body is pretty much barren of visible studs. So to have a blockyish head with tons of studs was always a bit contrasting. I've placed an order for these parts and looking forward to rounding him out Thanks! 1 Quote
