LegoSteve Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I plan on picking up 4-5 this year. Does that sound unreasonable? I usually pick up sets that are closer to retirement but since I can get them a B&****** for under $60. Plus there is always that wildcard of that set being sold out during Christmas so they might go for $140 on ebay and then after the holidays use that money to pick up 8-10 of those sets. Thoughts? nolanfan34 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Seems like a reasonable plan. I hope to pick up a few, I just have one so far. I think this will be one of the great Christmas flips and will sell out quickly. Quote
Brickbuilder.g Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I think this set is a Goldmine and better than many others that are out there short-term and long-term Quote
LegoSteve Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 I would buy all available at under $60. Yeah my city, Columbus OH, is sold out of Bennys Spaceship at B&****** so I'm sending my mother-in-law from a different state to pick up a couple. I've got three so far. Quote

ISO8T0 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Shipping to your parents or in-laws in another state to avoid state tax is good to. Quote

Ed Mack Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 After receiving this set from LEGO S@H, I am not that excited about it. Too expensive. I appreciate the effort, but I came away unimpressed. I wish I could really love it for that money. Maybe it's the small box that makes me feel that way. Quote
nolanfan34 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Maybe it's the small box that makes me feel that way. Ed, what do you mean by box size? Like since this isn't the next box size up, like the size of the 7965 box? Quote

Ed Mack Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Ed, what do you mean by box size? Like since this isn't the next box size up, like the size of the 7965 box? The box seemed small to me for a $100 set. I know LEGO is shrinking boxes, so maybe my assessment is skewed. I was hoping to be really impressed with this set in particular, being that the Galaxy Explorer was one of my favorite sets of all time. Quote

I am happy for the boxes being smaller though! Quote

I love the CUUSOO/LEGO Ideas and Architecture boxes. I guess it will take some time for an old school guy like me to adjust to the smaller boxes. Quote
freakchem Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I've already in 10 for Xmas. Hope it won't let me down. Quote
Alcarin Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Im passing on those entirely as the whole LEGO movie line, will only buy a couple of sets (small ones) for parts. Quote
