armaangoel78 Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 what, in your opinion are the best dc and best marvel sets of all time. This also includes the original "batman" themed sets from way back when Quote
Huskers1236 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Original Batcave and 10937 Arkham Asylum. I don't think anything from Marvel even comes close as far as epic sets. Could probably throw UCS Batmobile in there as well. 1 Quote
Quacs Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Original Batcave - just incredible. Great figs, great size, great playability, great vehicles. I liked the UCS Batmobile too, but I didn't think it was nearly as good as 7783. 1 Quote
leenoack83 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I'm in the process of assembling 7783 and 7785 from a couple of bulk lots that I picked up recently. 7783 is obviously a step above, but they make a pretty nice combo together. 1 Quote
TheDarkness Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Arkham Asylum, UCS Batmobile and original Tumbler set. Set wise the DC stuff leaves Marvel in the dust. Minifigure wise it is a different story. 1 Quote
@rtisan Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I`ve never been a big fan of the original UCS Batmobile. That said, I`d still love to own one at some point. As far as the best sets thus far go, I`d say: Original Tumbler/Joker Truck set. Arkham Asylum Original Batcave Easily the best 3 sets Lego has released to date, hopefully the upcoming (rumored) UCS Tumbler can be added to or top that list. They better not screw it up. 1 Quote
armaangoel78 Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 yeah I agree that there are no really good marvel sets. I liked the spider cycle set but its not even close to being epic. Quote
Alfiepops Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Marvel don't really have any iconic buildings or vehicles that tie them to characters. I think Dr Strange's house would be the best Marvel attempt but it would have to be a modular style to do it any justice, therefore will never happen. Baxter and Avengers original building and X Men mansion are just a little too boring (no offence to the die hards) I couldn't see high volume sales on these. The Daily Bugle only sells for the minifigs. No one cares about the stupid building facade that happens to come with the figs. Dark and moody wins hands down every time. Batman has this in spades. I would love all the original Batman sets. Oh I thought: maybe a Doc Doom Castle like the VC would be good that included the Silver Surfer and the FF. That I would love. Quote
armaangoel78 Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 I would also love to see the helicarier as a big set. It would be very unique I think. Lego shouldn't base their sets for marvel of of cartoons. kids wouldn't care and tfols and afols would probably like them better Quote

Lego shouldn't base their sets for marvel of of cartoons. kids wouldn't care and tfols and afols would probably like them better I don't think it's up to Lego. Marvel wants to tie the sets with the movies and cartoons so they can boost ratings for the show or the show would boost the sales of the toys. I agree with the fact that Marvel fans wouldn't care about the tie ins. I just want more X-Men figures!!!! Quote
jerryherb Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 has anyone seen the arkham asylum at the TRU B&M? what is the best price it was ever available at, amazon = not enough data (??). i see that ebay sales are in the 150's so low $100s? i thought it was an exclusive, meaning no discounts. Quote
BrickLegacy Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Best deals are the current Walmart gift card offer or Shop at Home 2-3x VIP event (+ bonus promos). Discounted gift cards or cash back always helps, too. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote

Well, you already picked the 3 sets I was going to type. I assume the new Arkham set could be added or replace the old Arkham set on the list. I'm not a fan of the older UCS Batmobile. Quote
