cchugg Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Hey guys, I'm somewhat new to the site. I've been lurking around for the past few months now. I'm needing some expert advice. I came across a lego lot ad on a local classified site and can't decide what to do. I'm torn because he doesn't have any of the minifigures. I'm not so sure it's worth it without em. What do you guys think?http://www.ksl.com/?nid=678&ad=30476802&cat=&lpid=0 Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 What do you plan on doing with the sets? Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Assuming you are buying these to resell: 0 My normal rule is I have to buy it at half of what I think I can gross for it at least. So assuming you could gross $600 on it, that would mean that you need to sell each set for about $20ish each. There are some decent sets, but also a lot of small stuff there. They are also used, and also you would have to verify pieces. My feeling is it could be had for less. Now to build stuff, 300 is not a bad deal at all I think. 1 Quote
cchugg Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 I'm more of a collector than investor, but I like the idea of knowing that most of the Legos I buy I could sale (for a profit or minimal loss) if financial times ever got rough. Plus, that's how I justify my purchases to my wife. Lol I do however like to buy complete sets. It would be a lot of work to chase down all the missing minifigs and accessories for these sets. It does seem like a lot of bricks tho. Plus, I don't own many of the listed sets. Hence my dilemma. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote

My initial thought would is that it would be more trouble than its worth. Offer him 175 and go from there. Quote
