CNH1974 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Great article. This set is on my "I want" list, along with a load of others of course but the Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I bought a bunch of these when Amazon had their 3rd off sale recently bringing these down to Quote
CNH1974 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I always seem to be miss these sales . Would it be worth flipping them at RRP? Fees would be approx Quote

spener90 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I saw this built at Toysrus recently! Gotta say, it is huge! Quote
kandj999 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Let me put it this way, this car was aimed at adults who likes to fiddle around with the car after it is built. Quote
malkhaz Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 How playable is it? I do not like the motorized version where battery looks like a big tank - very odd. Is there any way to use small battery and hide in somewhere? Quote
Baseace Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I have an opportunity to buy a lego 42000 set new and sealed for 102.50 no tax. What do you all think about the deal? Quote
elliottback Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 That's $20 off retail, maybe $30 after tax. They seem to vary on ebay, but I don't think it's a terrible idea! 1 Quote
Baseace Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I was leaning the same way. Around West Texas the only retailers that carries them for a 5.5 hours drive distance are TRUs. TRU prices the set at $159+tax -- ouch! Thanks for the thoughts. Have good one! Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Are you going to build? Invesment wise, you can definitely get lower so wait. As for building, its a sweet set so go for it., Quote

allen9917 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 No one can guarantee a lower price but I'll wait if I were you. Quote
warrior44 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Thxs. Eventually I want to get some of these and looking for the right price entry point. If uk amazon had the same deal on the service truck, I'd jump. Quote
Pseudoty Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 If looking to build there is a nice used one on eBay for $88 stickers never applied Never mind it is $85 with $12.95 shipping today must have gotten revised Quote
exciter1 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 They were about $80 from Amazon UK last Fall, so I've been waiting for that deal again. Quote
Ciglione Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I am wondering how this set will do after EOL. It looks really nice in my opinion. Quote
biniou Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I am wondering how this set will do after EOL. It looks really nice in my opinion. I'm very surprised by the fact that the common price here is about -20% MSRP, anytime, anywhere (on the web). That's the reason why I'm holding and have only one set (got with 30% off, easily again)... I'm really not sure but have a bad feeling about it (CAGR about 0/5 % IMO), and the fact that there is no licence (mac laren, ferrari, etc.) will not help IMO. Quote
Sauromosis Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Yeah, it's a winner at that Amazon UK price we got one time. Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 U think 42000 will go below the current $98 deal from uk amazon going on right now? 3 seperate times I have gotten a total of 10 of them at 80$ or less. Quote

Although this is a tough comparison given the difference in release dates, the 8461 Williams F1 Team Racer is very similar to 42000 in size and shape, albeit with a license. The price guide has the Williams going for $400 NISB. FWIW- Quote
