Hello everyone!

My name is Nick, I am from Dallas, Texas.

I have been in to Legos as long as I can remember.  I collected a lot of sets all the way up through probably middle school, I am 30 now.  The closet at my parents house is still full of my old sets, mostly City and Wild West, many in the original boxes.  Anything without an original box is in a sealed plastic storage bin.

I have a four month old son now and I am excited to get him in to Legos as well, starting with Duplo in a year or so.

I have recently started buying a few small sets here and there to build myself.  I also bought him the City Coin Bank to get his savings account started :)

Last night was the first time in close to 20 years that I sat down and built a full set (31025 Mountain Hut).  I am hoping to have a nice little city built up for he and I to play with over the next few years.

Anyway, I am glad I found this fourm.  I look forward to getting back in to building.

Welcome to the forums....I'm here in Dallas also although I am a transplant via Denver. It's so awesome having 3 Lego stores here. Welcome again and if you need anything just let me know.

Thank you!

I have been wanting to make it out to the Discovery Center since it opened.  I just never had a kid to take with me until recently. He and I will make it there soon. :)

I know about Grapevine and Stonebriar, where is the third?

Welcome to Brickpicker.  Great site.  Read/invest/read/invest...don't forget to sell a few along the way.

Done right you can acquire all the Lego you want paid for by Lego...it's a great gig.  Have fun with it.

I go to the discovery center without my kiddo all the time lol, they always have the hard to find sets. The third is in the Northpark mall.

I read at one point that you had to have a kid to get in (not the store part of course). Maybe I read wrong. :)

Here I am with Batman at the Times Square TRU a few years back. We also spent some time at the Rockefeller Center Lego store that day.

Welcome and congrats on the kiddo. I gave my son all my old Lego when he turned five. It's a blast to build with him.

Welcome to Brickpicker!! Enjoy you building, but don't let it get out of hand or else your whole house will be filled with Lego sets.

Thanks for the welcome!

My wife is happy to help me keep it under control :)

Welcome!  I am new as well and have gotten back into Lego after a 15+ year dark period.  The trip to Legoland with my kids last month was all it took.  I am so happy to be back!

Thanks! Welcome back as well!

Yes, it's their policy that adults have to be accompanied by a kid when visiting Legoland (they don't specify that it has to be YOUR kid, however...)

But you don't need a kid to shop in their store. I've seen plenty of adult men scoping the place out...probably for SSDs or something...  :girlhaha:

Also, welcome!

Welcome aboard, and welcome back from your dark ages! I did the same thing with my two kids when they were born. I began to stockpile sets for when they got older. They are eight and seven now, and have a lego collection that takes up most of the downstairs. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've been stockpiling the modular buildings for my kids for when they get older.  It will be a great bonding experience to break one out every once in a while on a rainy day to build.

We just got back from NYC last week. The batman was in a different place though lol
