DarthDrake
Hi all, Have several of these (20214) at my local TRU on clearance for $39.99. Just wondered if it was a buy or not. BP price guide has at $90+, but they don't look like they're moving that well on eBay. Thanks!
exciter1
I jumped all over a couple. I think they'll be fairly rare, but I went out on a limb buying them.
Alpinemaps
I like this, too. I bought one for myself, for my Halloween Town. I thought it would look good. (Need to remember to mention it in the Halloween thread). 50% off Lego is never a bad deal.
kenchu2000
For investment, I think those MBA sets can be a gamble. Not only they don't move well on ebay, but there aren't too many reviewers on Lego.com and other online retailers, so doesn't appear to be very popular. But I did grab two of each 3 MBA sets at TRU. One set for myself and one set to hold. Shipping cost on those sets can also be challenging, they are pretty heavy. Oh well, at 50% off, I will take a chance. DarthDrake
Thanks for the advice guys. I think they look pretty good and this is the only place I've ever seen them. I just didnt want to tie money up if the general consensus was that they were going to be duds. But I'm like you guys, it's hard to turn down 50% off. Will head back by there after work. Thanks again
No More Monkeys
I think they are targeted to some sort of lego club, so demand is very specialized (Master Builder - http://mba.lego.com/en-us/parents/masterbuilder , http://mba.lego.com/en-us/guide/what-is-a-lego-master-builder I think there are 40 Master Builders in the world , but given their salary, I would rather stick with Computer Science... Ed Mack
I really like these sets. They have nice instruction booklets. For $40, I would buy what they had.
No More Monkeys
I really like these sets. They have nice instruction booklets. For $40, I would buy what they had. They liked them at brickfan: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-master-builder-academy-invention-designer-20215-kit-10-time-machine-review/ But investing wise... at that price you probably will eventually double your money, but demand seems to be really low. Probably because B&****** have them, besides Lego SAH itself.
MartinP
I would get them. It looks like a cool set, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of demand for the set, like No More Monkeys stated.
