stephen_rockefeller Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Can someone tell me why TRU thinks this is acceptable, and to charge over MSRP on top of this? I hope TRU goes out of business soon! Quote
fuzzy_bricks Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Because it's what's on the inside that counts. Everyone knows this...especially ugly people. 8 Quote

meowingthings Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 They are more concerned with theft then selling to the collector market. Clearly they went overboard however I think given the minimal markup (compared to many other toys) they do need some serious loss prevention measures in certain markets. Quote
naf Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 While spider wrap sucks and does damage boxes, this looks like one of TRU's famous ship jobs that got returned to store. Quote

stephen_rockefeller Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Even though I hate TRU the one here in NYC is pretty amazing.....I've been there 5 times since Fri, still can't bring myself to spend a dime there. MP grimlocks were buy one get one half off no limit. 1 Quote
stephen_rockefeller Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 They also had 4 SSDs boxes all jacked up and a 599.99 price tag! Quote
brickelements Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 it is a rare sight to see any exclusive in my TRU. Sad so sad to see the boxes that way. I would be getting 20-30% off of Amazon shipping something like that to me. Quote
Ed Mack Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I think the LEGO bricks are definitely broke in that box. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote

DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I love TRU here - but they are terrible about everywhere else. Mine doesn't mark down damages either though so I think its just a policy thing. Like a lot of their other retardation. Quote
jaisonline Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Can someone tell me why TRU thinks this is acceptable, and to charge over MSRP on top of this? I hope TRU goes out of business soon! Why? TRU needs that theft device on the box because you know, stealing a Tower Bridge is pretty easy. Slips right into my jeans before walking out the door. "Why no TRU employee, that isn't isn't a huge Lego set in my pants..." Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app 2 Quote

@rtisan Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Insane, one day they will be gone, TRU can`t keep up with the way the consumer market is going. High/often insane prices, dirty stories, horrible customer service (much of the time), etc. Can`t say I`ll feel sorry for them. Because it's what's on the inside that counts. Everyone knows this...especially ugly people. Haha, comment of the day right here!! Quote
TheDarkness Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 TRU were scalping long before most of us got involved. Just forward thinking. Quote
@rtisan Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Come to think of it, it`s not the customers TRU is concerned about theft. It`s definitely the shady employees! Quote

I used to work at a computer store and people would walk out with 32 inch widescreen apple monitors. They'd just walk up to the cashier as if they're going to pay and then book it for the door. Quote
