CNH1974
I am sorting a bulk technic lot. I cannot relate the attached with the instructions I have. I am reasonably sure it is not from 8258 or 8285. It after 2004 as the grey is bley. Over to the experts........
0 Huskers1236
8275 is the only set that has 2 XL motors, this is a MOC.
0 MartinP
From the pictures given I'm going to disagree with you, it looks to be from the 8258 Crane Truck. I'm not 100% sure about it, but I will go through the instructions of that set to make sure. Edit: Here is a link. And the set is from 2009. 0 CNH1974
I have the instructions for 8258. Book 3 page 44 shows the chassis. The beams are grey not red.
0 Huskers1236
That XL motor is only used in 4 sets, one being 8258 that uses the same color scheme. Maybe it's an alternate build or a MOC using the same pieces?
0 Huskers1236
I have the instructions for 8258. Book 3 page 44 shows the chassis. The beams are grey not red. I saw this as well as I thought it had to be 8258 but noticed the chassis on it was dark bley, not red. I'm leaning toward it being a MOC. 0 MartinP
Maybe it is from the same set, but it was used in the alternate build for the set. I was going to check the instructions for that, but I could not find them.
0 CNH1974
Checked the alt build. Doesn't not match either. http://peeron.com/inv/parts/58121cx1 Hmmmm I'm leaning to a moc as well. It does not match the Peeron list. 8275 is yellow! I have to build as well. Looking at it closely, there is a grey bush in the middle of all the bley ones. 0 CNH1974
I agree, I am dismantling it. Might make the other sets easier to build, less missing pieces! Thanks both for your help. :)
0 Huskers1236
That was fun. I don't do too much Technic detective work. I was sure it was 8258 until the chassis was compared and 8258 only has one motor, making it impossible to be the set.

I have a few other pieces from that bulk lot I cannot identify but I have a 8258 and 8275 to build first. Sell those, then I might be able to get another GE or Maersk Ship with the proceeds
