nessyhill
Hi everyone, I need some help from LEGO enthusiasts! I'm making a short educational film where I would like to construct a brain out of LEGO. What I'm after is some brick-sourcing and construction help from LEGO enthusiasts. I'm happy to pay you for your time and bricks. I don't necessarily need to keep the bricks, the brain could be dismantled after we build it. I'm planning on filming in the Playa Vista area of Los Angeles on either Sunday 29 June or Monday 30 June. I realize this really short notice, so if there is any advice you can give, like where I would buy bricks from, it would be hugely appreciated. I'm a freelance science educator trying to tell a story about how the brain grows over time. The style I have in mind is something like this LEGO heart: http://iheartguts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/lego-heart1.jpg Hope to hear from you soon! holleman67
Do you have a list of what bricks are needed?
@rtisan
Interesting! I`m not anywhere near there, but best of luck. Hopefully you`ll find some people able to assist. EDIT: Have you contacted any local LUGs (Lego User Groups) in the area? They might be interested, but it is short notice.
Jojoyojimbi
that heart is about 20,000 bricks, at even 0.10 cents a brick, you're looking at an awful expensive brain
nessyhill
Do you have a list of what bricks are needed? No, I haven't built anything before so I need some advice on this from someone with more experience (probably someone who can help out) Interesting! I`m not anywhere near there, but best of luck. Hopefully you`ll find some people able to assist. EDIT: Have you contacted any local LUGs (Lego User Groups) in the area? They might be interested, but it is short notice. I have contacted them, thanks. Haven't heard anything back yet so I thought I would try here too. that heart is about 20,000 bricks, at even 0.10 cents a brick, you're looking at an awful expensive brain Hmmm I know, but if someone knows what they're doing in building it that will be ok. holleman67
In in Maryland so offer than advice I'm no help. Having a list of what is needed would be best but even then getting the parts ordered to you will most likely not happen by the end of the month. Noodlenut
I would recommend buying the basic brick boxes from LEGO Shop at Home. There are the creative buckets, but they contain tires, windshields, trees, and they only have a certain amount of basic bricks. I would get the 6177 Basic Bricks Deluxe set. There are over 600 pieces, and at $30 bucks, you would be paying only five cents per brick. If you don't want to get that, basically all of your options would be here: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Bricks-More-ByTheme Hope this helped you and that your project goes well! Mos_Eisley
This person isn't a builder and there isn't a brain set so I'm not sure how you guys are expecting them to have any idea of what to order to build a realistic looking brain. There are plenty of people out there who could get this done for you, at a price, but don't just start buying buckets and random stuff as they will have very little that you'll actually need for this project. I'd love to help you with this but I just don't have the time right now. Get ahold of LUGOLA and/or OCLUG.
