junkrigger
I don't think either will be around long. Like someone else mentioned, there's no for reason to keep two sets of trains in production. Also, Toys R Us is usually the last retailer to be left hanging onto old sets, and they've already clearance theirs. I know there's a pretty wide gap between the investors and parter-outers on this site, but you guys might want to think about splitting this one up. Current part-out value is about $250, and it's easy to do- you only have to open bag 2 to get the switches for the switch plates. I got 5 if these at TRS clearance for $110 each; I've had them listed for two weeks, and I've already sold enough to break even. Those sales are also just from the trains/train cars/crane, I haven't gotten listings for track sections up yet. Cargo train is already selling for this much so no need to part out anymore, but you are right parting was good when it was still available at retail. I recommend holding this for a month more to see if its headed for 300 or stuck at 250. though 250 is already double their amazon price earlier this year, so yeah its done well, arguably just as well as GE and SSD considering how long its been sold out. junkrigger
Has anyone noticed that Chinese sellers are flooding the market with these and Tower of orthanc. Almost every other listing is by a Chinese seller with 0 feedback ships from Sydney. Anyone on here bought one of these: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40%7CR40%7CR40%7CR40&_sacat=0&_nkw=lego+tower+of+orthanc&_sop=1 Also the auctions for 7939 have been rampant from these "sellers/scamers" http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-TRAIN-7939-Cargo-Train-NEW-fits-with-7937-Ship-from-Sydney-/221492232292?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item3391f74064

Now I have, and I'm worried about the set. These Chinese fakes will destroy the value of the current sets and all hopes of making some money off of them. Deez_Brickz
I can't believe some of these seem to be growing. With the others coming out so quick, I thought they were done. I bought 3 x red trains from amazon UK last November for $79 each. Sold all 3 for $179 each last month.

I don't know if there are full on fake versions of 7939 and Orthanc, that would seem a bit much, I think its more someone trying to scam but there have been the same listings from all these different sellers, but if you look at their items they are all the same, Tower of Orthanc, Cargo train, Some small model cars. There are like five or more sellers with the same list of items, its weird and has been going on for at least a week. http://www.ebay.com/sch/wujinyun4159/m.html?item=331261557470&hash=item4d20ba3ade&pt=Building_Toys_US&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Oh and a Bwing also sometimes. http://www.ebay.com/sch/chenzhirong4763/m.html?item=121388637075&hash=item1c43539b93&pt=Diecast_Vehicles&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 http://www.ebay.com/sch/madeyong5828/m.html?item=191251485909&hash=item2c877a14d5&pt=Diecast_Vehicles&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 http://www.ebay.com/sch/linsanlan6863/m.html?item=261535455126&hash=item3ce4ba5796&pt=Building_Toys_US&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 I could go on and on, they are really rampant. I guess I am gonna have to buy one to find out what happens, just curious if anyone already has.

junkrigger
I have had great dealings with some sellers out of China, but this seems fishy at best.
Veegs
I have had great dealings with some sellers out of China, but this seems fishy at best. I think the exact same store/wording was also used on amazon.ca last week - in another thread someone bit on the $67 R2-D2. I think it screams of disaster and left it.
