If Lego wanted to go beyond the classic monsters there are many older 'B' movie monsters that Lego could probably create without paying licensing fees such as: 50' Woman, The Fly, The Blob, Body Snatchers, Beast from 20,000 fathoms, Deadly Mantis, Robbie the robot from Forbidden Planet, multiple terrors, demons, things, its, etc. I won't list them all here but simply googling "classic horror movies" brings up huge lists of monsters who likely don't require licensing.
