iahawks550 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 For resale, it makes it easier to say 'retired' when it's actually able to be confirmed by potential buyers. 1
waddamon Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Specualtion is speculation until proven by the facts.
Darth_Raichu Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Why are people anxiously awaiting these retirement status updates? Do you need confirmation of what you've been able to see with your own eyes for months now? Why do people gather together and stay up until late on December 31st ? New year falls on January 1st year after year. Edited March 11, 2015 by Darth_Raichu 3
bricketycricket Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Why do people gather together and stay up until late on December 31st ? New year falls on January 1st year after year. Point taken, and I understand why people will be excited when these sets are officially marked as retired. Not sure it's worth F5ing and watching for daily though like some people seem to be doing.

mscheaf Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Why are people anxiously awaiting these retirement status updates? Do you need confirmation of what you've been able to see with your own eyes for months now? Because I am not a liar and I only put "retired" on my ebay listings if it says "retired" on the Lego site. Now I will be able to. Other than that, it doesn't really make much difference to me.

mscheaf Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Make sure to specify which country or worldwide. I only sell in US. Edited March 11, 2015 by exciter1 Someone might be buying via proxy. I was just joking anyway.

This all just seems moot to me since selling anytime near when the retired label is slapped onto a set seems a bit premature.

bricketycricket Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Tell that to my Mars Rovers and RI More confirmation that the retirement label itself is a moot point
mscheaf Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) I am not looking to sell HH and R2 no. But X-Wing and MF? You bet! Deloreans and Micro Worlds? Sure! And I would move 1 or maybe 2 of my TH right now for $525 shipped. That's a fantastic return. Edited March 11, 2015 by mscheaf

mscheaf Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Yes it is. And you wouldn't even have to lean on a "retired" label to get it! See my point? No I wouldn't have to "lean" on the retired label. I never said I had to "lean" on it. But now I can include that in the listings and if it helps me get an extra penny it was worth it.
Darth_Raichu Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 More confirmation that the retirement label itself is a moot point I am not trying to convince anyone. If you believe it is then so be it
andredub Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Individual pages for many sold out items have no details on them as of now, so perhaps we'll see the mass retirement today. e.***., http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Grand-Emporium-10211?fromListing=listing The sold out search page has two products on it. The retired product search comes up empty. Hopefully this is the mass retirment and official confirmation we have all been waiting for. Hi, Are they updating the EOLs or is there a problem with the website. Grand Emporium does not show any longer?
ninocerruti Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I don't know if someone said already, but no more TMNT set available in belgium. Just 4 keychains.
DFC01 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I don't know if someone said already, but no more TMNT set available in belgium. Just 4 keychains. Lego lost the license for TMNT to Hasbro. We won't get TMNT from Lego for a while. 1
holleman67 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Lego lost the license for TMNT to Hasbro. We won't get TMNT from Lego for a while. Did they lose it or let the contract expire? Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Brickpicker mobile app
DFC01 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 If it expired and they didn't renew, it's as if they lost it. Semantics 1
legodelorean Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I'm bummed that they lost the TMNT license. I liked the line.
andredub Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 But do you think it will give more value to the retired TMNT sets ?
diablo2112 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Speaking of confirmed retirement, I predict this post and the previous page and half of threads gets "retired" from this thread, which is meant for confirmed listing from TLG of a "retired" label on an official SAH website. 2
ninocerruti Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) Find a all TMNT sets at 50% from the movie and 30% off for some others 2013. MATTEL bought MEGA BLOKS and have the license back for TMNT and same for Bob's sponge ( all NICKELODEON license). I heard Spiderman, but I have to check this one. Edited March 15, 2015 by ninocerruti
