I thought the Empire Strikes Back was a great movie even without a DS

Episode 5 is part of OT story arc. What I meant is that in every SW trilogy story arc, there has to be a tyrant from the dark side with overwhelmingly massive military might attempting to crush the "freedom fighters" led by the light side of the Force (Skywalker). And the deathstar is in Star Wars DNA to represent such an overwhelmingly massive military might.

Other movies used similar concept, such as Oblivion, Independence Day.

I saw the original Episode IV in theater as a child, and every SW movie since in theater. I suppose the timing of my youth and seeing the original in theater makes me like the first 3 releases more than the others. I think because when they were first released starting in 1977, this was all new and no one had ever seen characters, special effects like these, plus combined with a good story, this was a great movie franchise. Now we are in the digital age when any creature, landscape, object, anything a person can imagine can be digitally created.

For people who are younger than me, children especially, some of whom were born in the digital age, the new movie could be just as good as the earlier 6 releases, or even better. Younger audiences already have seen such marvelous special effects in other movies and television, so for them to watch a DVD for the first time of Episode IV A New Hope, that movie is as good, possible even "worse" than the newer movies with special effects. So that is why I presume a younger audience would still think the Force Awakens is a good movie.  To me The Force Awakens is a rehash of the last 6 movies.

Maybe not about the movie exactly.

But... I am really happy with Ep VII. Why? Cause now I have the chance to acquire all the Lego TFA sets and make a complete collection. As to have all the Star Wars sets is nearly impossible.

Do you want a complete Force Awakens collection as a Fan or to resell? I am curious.

As a fan at first. As an investment, I believe only Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle is interesting. And some of the figures in other sets.

It will be interesting to see how well which sets from this movie will do well. I think for this game, I will watch from the sidelines and reminisce the stories from others sellers.

What you call a "rehash" is just a another part in this same storyline. It is a sequel so by definition it has to "rehash" the same storylines. The things you are talking about like a Boba Fett movie are completely separate stories. I think people are not realizing this. Did you really think that Episode 7 was going to be a completely different story will completely different characters? It's called Episode 7 not Episode 1 of an all new different Star Wars story. I agree that reusing the Death Star idea was a misstep but other than that I don't get the bashing of this movie, I really don't. You will get your new Star Wars stories, Rogue Squadron, young Han Solo, Boba Fett movie, etc.

Now your just trolling, LOL. You need to change your name to Angry Guy.

I do now see the point of the numbering of episodes and the continued storyline of the Skywalker name. I'm just saying,  I aint paying anymore money to see another Death Star get blown up. I don't care how many more heroes they pull out of a desert planet... just my opinion.  I thought episode 6 was a good ending to the story of Anakin.  As always, use your own thoughts as to what is or isn't good.

We need a more accurate kylo ren ship. The current set will always be remembered as the one that lego got wrong because of the high level of secrecy at disney.

"The more things change, the more they remain the same."  I agree with your synopsis.  Why didn't people get all bent when Lucas created the Death Star II?  I thought the planet idea was a creative evolution of the Death Star idea.  I think people who are disappointed with the STAR WARS plots fail to realize that the whole series to date was centered around one family, just like many other famous soap operas.

I think you can rest assured that there will be a UCS Kylo Ren ship, whatever it may be called.  It was a much better ship in the movie than what we got from lego.  A version that is technic built in the wings, ala 10212 would be much more streamlined than a brick/plate built version.

Other thoughts I had:

-Since the First Order destroyed the seat of the New Republic, Leia is now the leader of all the free systems in the universe.

-The interrogation scene where Rey resisted and overpowered Kylo was her awakening in the force, she quickly then manipulated the stormtrooper and bested Kylo in the fight.

-The First Order suffered huge losses, Snoke will need a new general and army...Benicio Del Toro?

I liked this better the first time I saw it. When it was called A New Hope

There were elements from all 3 original trilogy films:

1) Desert, ice, and forest planets.

2) Orphan on desert planet discovers the force.

3) Death Star aka Starkiller base

4) Trench run, as well as Poe flying into the base in order to take it out.

Many other references as well.  I saw it more as a new story with familiar elements than a rehash of ANH.

I'm sure a lot of this has been mentioned before but I haven't been reading this thread in an effort to avoid spoilers.

Well, "Halo" and every other sci-fi prequel/sequel does it, so, why not...
