fuzzy_bricks
I enjoyed it. I have a strong urge to build a bunch of SW sets I have stashed away. Kids loved BB-8, I've got to think we'll get a UCS of this droid at some point. My oldest thought we were going to see a sequel where all the characters looked the same as they did 30 years ago, from his comments he is an OT purist. Spoiler I won't say it's a bad thing, but I feel that I just watched a movie very similar to A New Hope. 33 minutes ago, chipbee said: Kylo Ren is bad ass. I would say more terrifying than Vader due to his unpredictability. However, there is no music matching the imperial march like how Vader appeared on screen, which sort of dialed down the fear factor a bit. I kind of disagree. Spoiler Taking the mask off removes some of the mystery that you got with Vader. After watching him freak out and then later take the mask off, I got a flashback to angsty, whiney Anakin, but toned down.
jaisonline
Kylo Ren is prob now the most hated character in the SW universe. ...for very different reasons than Jar Jar.

areyounormal
Just got home - super fun and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Was cool seeing the Lego sets come to life on the screen....
Bold-Arrow
So I just watched that movie and have been boycotting this thread , is it still a "discussion" or discussion ?
nolanfan34
It was amazing. I had high expectations and I thought it was just perfect. The super-hardcore fan fiction types will complain about some things, but JJ absolutely nailed it IMO.
nolanfan34
A Lego question for those who have seen it. Spoiler where the heck was the snowspeeder? Did I miss some ground battle or something? That was the only set that didn't really seem to make an appearance.

nolanfan34
Haha, that's what I thought. Other funny Lego notes: Spoiler So, they clearly only had a few production stills to work off of? The Kylo Ren ship can't angle the wings like the movie right? I also love that the one pirate dude comes with the Millennium Falcon set when he's in the movie for like 2 seconds.

Alpinemaps
I feel like I can safely wander back in here, after being absent for awhile. I won't spoil plot, but I will give my opinion... Spoiler Wow. Excellent film. Pitch perfect. That was a Star Wars film. I will be seeing it a few more times.
Alpinemaps
Regarding LEGO sets: Spoiler I still feel the same as I did before - I'm underwhelmed with the LEGO sets we've got. MF - sure, why not. I did like Rey's ship. But everything else is a miss for me. Kylo Ren's shuttle needed to be done, but they screwed that one up. I'd prefer to have a blue X-wing, and Poe's black one (but I get it). I guess we know why R2-D2 got discontinued, lol. I'd love to see a BB-8, though. I'd buy the heck out of that one.

chipbee
I can safely say that this is the best SW movies ever. JJ stood on the shoulders of giant (George Lucas) and made the SW franchise even better. I like it that the storm troopers are humanized as we can feel their fear and anger. The new key actors are very good at expressing the emotions, and the lines are well written. This new movie has also addressed questions about why have another death star like weapon, and how such a huge weapon is powered. Although all are science fiction, but at least this new movie ties the logical loose ends better.
Val-E
Care to expand on that R2 comment for those of us who have no interest in seeing the film? Perhaps by PM if it´s only me!
Ed Mack
The movie just made me smile. The kinda smile you make when something really impresses a person and you just have to give props and say..."That's goooood." I loved the old school feel and sound.s. Everything seemed real., from the way the guns fire to the beat up look of all the ships. They reminded me of some WWII bombers and fighters. Kylo Ren's shuttle was awesome and the LEGO set doesn't really portray it well in my opinion. From a LEGO standpoint, there wasn't a lot of new or memorable vehicles to work with, but that is not a knock on the movie, just disappointing from a new set perspective.

I guess it is a candidate for a future UCS ship too.

His has very little screen time, maybe 2-3 minutes, if that.
